BERTRAND SPRING SPORTS PREVIEW

BERTRAND GIRL'S TRACK LOOK TO IMPROVE WITH SOLID NEW-COMERS

Head coach of the Bertrand Vikings, Brad Renken, is entering his 29th year of coaching track, 19 being as the head coach. Renken looks for the girl's squad to continue improving but sees that incoming freshmen, Shelby Schoene, Addie Andersen, and Ashlynn Edgren could help make an impact.

Bertrand will open their track season on March 16th with the UNK Indoor meet.

BOY'S TRACK TEAM LOOKS TO REMAIN COMPETITIVE

Brad Renken looks for the boy's team to remain very competitive this season. He is returning senior, Owen Kaps, who was the 2022 State Champion in pole vault with a personal record of 14'4" as well as sophomore, Marcus Hernandez who was the 2022 State Runner-Up in the pole vault with a personal record of 13'6" and also qualified for the 3200-meter run. Thunder Nelson is an incoming freshmen who Renken looks to also be a key contributor.

Bertrand will open their season on March 16th at the UNK Indoor meet.

BERTRAND GOLF LOOKS TO GROW YOUTHFUL TEAM

Bertrand's golf team will be fairly young in 2023. But, the cupboard isn't bare. In his ninth season at the helm, Steve Colfack will have senior Chonsey Bieker back. He placed in two meets last year. The Vikings in total return three golfers with varsity experience.

Bertrand will start the season on March 24th at the Alma Triangular.
