Bulls Defeat Sailors on Thursday Night
Sutherland hosted Hi-Line on Thursday evening for some football action. The Bulls won, 36-18.
Hi-Line got on the board first as it was Lucas Cochrane who ran it in from 15 yards out. The two-point conversion was good, and it was 8-0 with 9:04 to go in the first quarter.
Hi-Line got a stop on defense and took no time to score again, with Lucas Cochran hitting from 12 yards out with 4:29 to go in the first quarter. The two-point conversion was good, and it was 16-0.
That was the score at the end of the first quarter.

Sutherland fumbled on their own 29-yard line. Jaxson Hood-Russell recovered the ball and returned it for a touchdown. The two-point conversion was good, and it was 24-0 with about 3:00 to go before halftime.
That was the score as the teams went into the half. During halftime, we had an hour-long lightning delay as rain showers moved through the Sutherland area.
Out of the half, Sutherland was able to have a kick return for a touchdown as Tristian Woolf took it the distance from 78 yards away. It was 24-6 at that point
The Bulls answered with a touchdown of their own as Traeyvn Koch ran it in from about 40 yards away with 11:29 to go in the third quarter. It was 30-6 after that.
Sutherland was able to score on their next possession as Edrien Hampton had a quarterback sneak. It was 30-12 with 3:17 to go in the third quarter.

While Hi-Line was driving down the field, they fumbled the football, and the Sailors took possession. The fumble occurred around the 5-yard line, rolled into the end zone, and Sutherland recovered it. They took over on their own 15-yard line.
Edrien Hampton then ran it in from a few yards out to push the lead for Hi-Line. It was 36-12 with 11:16 to go in the game.
On the Bulls' next punt, Sutherland was able to block it and take over on the Hi-Line 5-yard line. The Sailors did not waste the opportunity as Jack Wallace ran it in from a few yards out. The two-point conversion failed, and it was 36-18 with 7:33 to go.

For Sutherland, they had 66 yards rushing and 47 yards passing. Jack Wallace had 41 yards rushing and a touchdown. Edrien Hampton had a rushing touchdown. Tristan Woolf had 41 yards rushing, 11 yards receiving, and a kick return for a touchdown. Jonah Saner had 22 yards receiving. Sutherland is 0-5 and will have a bye before they play Dundy County Stratton on the road on 10/2.
Hi-Line accumulated 365 yards rushing. For Hi-Line, Lucas Cochrane had 195 yards rushing and two touchdowns; Traeyvn Koch had 103 yards and a score. Hi-Line is now 1-3 and will play at Hitchcock County on 9/25.
