Cambridge Hosted Girls Invite and Fran Jorgensen Invite on Saturday

Cambridge hosted a 20-team boys tournament and a 25-team girls tournament on Saturday. Six RPAC boys teams and seven RPAC girls teams were in action. Let's recap the day, starting with the girls tournament.

At 100 pounds, Capri Sayer of Cambridge placed 1st and made quick work of her day as she pinned each of her opponents in under 65 seconds. Sayer improves to 17-3 on the year. At 105 pounds, Cali Santifer of Southern Valley/Arapahoe had a solid performance as she placed 4th to Dinah Culp of Wilcox-Hildreth by fall in 1:50. At 110 pounds, Laney Becker of Southern Valley/Arapahoe faced Kyra Sowers of Decatur Community. The two battled hard for the title, but it was Becker who secured the win by fall at 3:44, improving to 15-1 on the year.
At 115 pounds, Alyssa Koch of Southwest wrestled Allie Oligmueller of West Holt for 3rd place. Koch fought hard, but Olgimueller secured the pin in 1:47. At 120 pounds, Hayley Serfontein had a great day as she was able to remain unbeaten, 16-0, with a 1st-place win over Jenna Fuentes of Decatur Community by fall in 1:44.
At 135 pounds, Natalie Breinig of Southern Valley/Arapahoe and Jocelyn Dunse of Alma battled in their round robin format. Breinig placed 1st after winning by fall in all three of her matches. Dunse placed 4th after some tough matches today. At 145 points, Ava Dunse of Alma placed 2nd to Audrey Cline of Franklin by fall in 0:37. At 190 pounds, Addison Arvdal of Sutherland had another solid day, improving her record to 16-0. Arvdal defeated Piper Moll of Adams Central by fall in 1:41 to place 1st. At 235 pounds, Madelyn Tryon of Southwest wrestled for the title, and Elena Lee of Southern Valley/Arapahoe wrestled for third. Tryon fell to Quinlyn Statz of Adams Central in 3:16 for 2nd. Lee placed 4th to Carleigh Jackson of West Holt by fall in 0:49.
According to each school's calendar, teams will be back on the mat again on the following days:
Bertrand will return to the mat on January 3rd for the SEM Invite.
Southwest and Sutherland will travel to the North Platte Invite on January 3rd.
The Alma Cardinals will return to action after the break at the Franklin Invite on January 9th.
Southern Valley/Arapahoe will travel to Malcom on January 9th.
Hi-Line will attend the Elm Creek Invite on January 16th.
Wauneta-Palisade will be back in action on January 24th at the Sandhills/Thedford Invite.

At 106 pounds, Gavin Andrews of Arapahoe placed 1st after a solid day defeating Carson Swanson of Loomis by fall in 0:57. Andrews improves his record to 12-2. At 113 pounds, Hayden Helms of Arapahoe placed 3rd, defeating Konner Gruntorad of Elm Creek by fall in 1:37. Helms improved to 14-3. At 120 pounds, Bryson Shriver of Alma battled Brendan Booe of Loomis for 3rd place. Shriver defeated Booe in a tough match, winning 10-9 to place 3rd.
At 126 pounds, Josh Russell of Alma placed 3rd over LaTavion Dack of Shelton by TB-1, 11-7.
Rigley McDonald of Arapahoe wrestled Nolan Dueker of Bayard for 3rd place and earned an improvement to 17-1 due to a medical forfeit. Carter Blickenstaff of Arapahoe placed 2nd at 138 pounds to Kyler Masters of Wilcox-Hildreth by major decision, 12-0. At 144 pounds, Briggs Hill of Arapahoe had a good day as he faced Brody Patterson of Wilcox-Hildreth in the title match. Hill remains unbeaten, 17-0, defeating Patterson by fall in 2:50.
At 157 pounds, Rhett Brown of Bertrand placed 3rd over Cazen Smith of Twin Loup by medical forfeit. Brown improves his record to 14-5. At 165 pounds, Colton Perks of Cambridge wrestled for the title, and Dylan Kollmorgan of Hitchcock County wrestled for 3rd place. Perks improved to 18-1 by defeating Oran Grint of Twin Loup by fall in 1:24. Kollmorgan defeated Jayden Meier of Elm Creek by a 9-3 decision to place 3rd and improve his record to 14-3.
Jaret Neben of Hitchcock County placed 4th at 175 pounds after losing to Dominick Larraga of Shelton via tech fall. Three RPAC wrestlers competed for medals at 190 pounds. In the title match, Karson Hubl of Hitchcock County defeated Jacob Jezbera of Wilcox-Hildreth by fall in 2:47 to place 1st. In the 3rd-place match, Myles Stanton of Cambridge defeated Kade Schaffert of Southwest by fall in 1:39.
At 215 pounds, Karson Shuler of Hitchcock County defeated Demarion Williams of Shelton late in the match as he was able to get the fall in 5:24. In the 3rd-place match, Trey Downey of Arapahoe lost to Daden Beauprez of Yuma by a 4-1 decision. Jayden Loghry of Hitchcock County fell to Caden Swanson of Loomis in 1:27 to place 2nd. His record now stands at 12-3.

Cambridge will host a dual on January 6th.
Alma will attend the Southern Valley Triangular on January 8th.
