Craig Newcomb of Bertrand Selected to be Part of the 2025 NCA Boys Basketball All-Star Coaching Staff

It was announced on Wednesday morning by the Nebraska Coaches Association that Bertrand Viking Boys Basketball Coach Craig Newcomb will be part of the staff for the All-Star game on July 23rd. Newcomb will be an assistant on the Blue squad and Jimmy Motz of Norris is the Head Coach.

This honor is voted on their peers.

This season is Newcomb's last season of coaching. He has amassed over 300 career wins in his 27 years as head coach at Bertrand.

Bertrand is 20-5 and is still in the mix this season as a team that could qualify for state. They are regarded as a top-10 team in D1. They play Elm Creek on Thursday night in the D1-10 subdistrict final in Elm Creek. That game will tip-off at 6:30 P.M. CT.
