On Friday evening, Cambridge hosted their annual CSO All-Star Games. For more information on the All-Star games, check out the insert from the program at the games.

In an email earlier this spring, Jarod Albers provided some information on how the teams were changing a little, specifically the names of the teams. "For the 40th anniversary, we are transitioning away from the East/West format and selecting players from an at-large pool via a serpentine draft format. To replace the East/West team names, teams will now be named to recognize the great coaches of the past that either impacted Southwest Nebraska basketball or Coached in the CSO All-Star Game. "
So the team names for this year were as follows.
Girls Teams
Team: Coach (Roger) Lauhead: Wauneta-Palisade
Team: Coach (Mike) Lanham: Oxford/Southern Valley
Boys Teams
Team: Coach (Jody) Rhodes: Paxton
Team: Coach (Bob) Newcomb: Bartley/Twin Valley
Here were the rosters for the game.

Before we dive into the action, the Coaches who were the team names were honored.

Mik Lanahm of Oxford/Southern Valley began the Girls Basketball program in Oxford in 1975. He coached his girls to two state championships, 10 state tournament appearances, and 13 conference championships. He compiled a record of 477-181. He was selected to coach the first CSO All-Star Game. Mike was an assistant for the boys' basketball program for 10 years, too. One of Mike's grandchildren, Adi Hunt, played in Friday night's game.

Roger Lauhead of Wauneta-Palisade. Dawn Doetker of Wauneta-Palisade was there to accept the honor. Doetker was a player of Lauhead's and also an assistant coach of his for three seasons. Lauhead taught at Dunning, Humphrey St. Francis, Wauneta, and Wauneta-Palisade. Roger had a career record of 334-125 and led Wauneta-Palisade to the Girl State Basketball Tournament nine times, including the D1 State Championship in 1997. His teams won the GPAC and RPAC Championships eight times. Lauhead had passed away in April of 2022.

Bob coached and taught at Hampton, Friend, and Bartley, where he took two teams to the state tournament. Bob coached the first CSO All-Star Game in 1985 and again in 1990. His career record was 392-303. Bob passed away in May of 2021.
