Day 1 of the 2026 NSAA State Golf Championships is in the Books

On Wednesday, May 27th, 2026, the NSAA State Golf Championships began. For RPAC Golfers, they competed in two different locations. For class C, they were at the Indianhead Golf Club in Grand Island. For Class D, they were at Quail Run Golf Course in Columbus. Let’s dive into the results.

Class C


Dundy County Stratton


The Dundy County Stratton Tigers had a pair of golfers. Both are seniors, Owen Mathews and Dante Horner.

For Mathews, he shot a 77 and is T-27th, and Dante Horner shot a 76 and is T-18th. A strong start to the tournament for the Tigers.

Wallace


For Wallace, Tyson Sullivan posted a solid score of 94. Micah Garrison put himself in medal contention, shooting an 80. We visited with Micah Garrison about his first round at state.



Sullivan is T-65th, and Garrison is T-14th.

For the Trojans, they had the entire team qualify. They are in 14th as a team with a 380. Hodge Raburn shot a 104, and he is T-91st. Carter Shoemaker shot a 104 and is T-91st. Graham Shoemaker finished the day with a 94 and is T-65th. Maverick Webb shot a 100 and is T-85th. Micah Gerlach shot an 82 and is 23rd.

For the Vikings, Scott Bieker was the lone qualifier. He finished with an 81 and is T-17th.

Hitchcock County had the entire team qualify. They are 3rd as a team with a 343. Jack Baker shot a 75 and is in 4th place. Brayden Melchert shot an 84 and is T-28th. For Cale Graham, he finished day one with an 88 and is T-45th. Grady Erickson shot a 94 and is T-76th, and Dylan Kollmorgen ended his day with a 100 and is T-85th.

Sutherland


The Sailors qualified their team. Scotty Anderson shot a 112 and is in 98th place. Kaid Hogan shot a 107 and is in 97th place. Teagan Fitzpatrick shot a 94 and is T-65th. Reid Dempcy shot a 94 and is T-65th. In the team standings, Sutherland is in 13th with a 376. Easton Smith had a nice outing with an 81. He is T-17th. We interviewed him after his round.
