The Dundy County Stratton Tigers, a squad regarded as one of the top teams in D1, hosted Sutherland on Thursday. DCS dominated the game, winning 48-0.
DCS took little time getting the offense going as Dante Horner scored on a three-yard run, capping off a six-play drive. The two-point conversion was good, and it was 8-0 with 9:06 in the first.
The Tigers got the ball back and a few minutes later, Horner found Kevin Garcia with a short pass, and Garcia turned on the jets and scored from 54 yards away. The two-point conversion was good, and it was 16-0 with 5:57 in the first.

Later in the first quarter, Horner found August Shaw on a 65-yard pass that resulted in another touchdown. This pushed the lead to 22-0, and that was the score heading into the second quarter.
Shortly after the second quarter started, Noah Zoltenko scored from 63 yards away on the ground, and the extra point was good, and it was 29-0 with 11:33 to go in the half.
Sutherland was searching for momentum before the half, and it appeared that he had some, forcing a fumble. But shortly later, the Sailors gave it back to DCS. The Tigers scored on a 13-yard pass from Horner to Shaw, and it was 35-0 heading to halftime.
The Tigers scored twice more in the game, as Horner scored from seven yards away in the third quarter, and then Trynt Unger scored from 31 yards away in the fourth.
The Tigers were down a couple of key players this week due to injury, Ethan Latta and Breck Horner, which was confirmed by Head Coach Mike Spargo. The Tigers then got to see what kind of depth they had in this one.
The Sailors competed hard in this matchup and did some good things.
