Dundy County Stratton Wins on the Road Against Cambridge, Zoltenko Runs Wild for the Tigers

On Friday, September 11, 2026, Cambridge played host to Dundy County Stratton on Friday night for a football matchup.

Dundy County Stratton got on the board with a long drive. That was capped off by a 19-yard touchdown pass from Breck Horner to Trynt Unger. It was 6-0 with 8:06 to go in the first quarter.

Dundy County Stratton was driving against Cambridge and got all the way to their 17-yard line. But on a fourth-down attempt, they couldn't convert, and Cambridge took over. After a couple of plays, Cambridge fumbled it back to Dundy County Stratton, and they had the ball on the Trojan 38-yard line.

Early in the second quarter, Breck Horner scored on an 18-yard run to extend the lead for the Tigers. The two-point conversion was good, and it was 14-0 with 11:15 to go before halftime.

The offense picked up all of a sudden as Dundy County Stratton scored on a 31-yard touchdown run by Noah Zoltenko with 8:49 to go in the half; it was 20-6.

After an interception by the Tigers, Dundy County Stratton was able to score quickly as Noah Zoltenko ran it in from 3 yards out. The two-point conversion was no good, and it was 26-6 with 5:15 to go in the half.

Dundy County Stratton got the ball after a punt on their own 2-yard line. They fumbled the football, and Cambridge recovered. Two plays later, Braxton Mitchell ran it in, and the two-point conversion was good, and it was 26-14 with 1:00 to go before halftime. That was the score going into halftime.

Out of the half, Cambridge scored on their opening drive. Braxton Mitchell ran it in from 18 yards out to make it 26-22 with 11:06 to go in the third.

On the next kickoff, Dundy County Stratton fumbled Cambridge and took possession near midfield. Cambridge did not waste the opportunity as Braxton Mitchell ran in from 1-yard out on fourth down to take a 28-26 lead with just under 8:00 to go in the third quarter.

Dundy County Stratton countered with their own score, a 28-yard touchdown run by Noah Zoltenko with 3:25 to go in the third quarter. The two-point conversion was good, and it was 34-28.

Following an interception by Trynt Unger for Dundy County Stratton, the Tigers took over on the Trojans' 38-yard line. The very next play, Noah Zoltenko ran it in, and the two-point conversion was good. It was 42-28 with 1:44 to go in the third quarter. That was the score heading to the fourth.

After Cambridge failed to convert on a fourth down deep in Dundy County Stratton territory, the Tigers took over. One play later, Noah Zoltenko took it 74 yards for a touchdown. He was 48-28 with 10:22 to go in the game.

Cambridge was able to counter with a 36-yard touchdown pass from Braxton Mitchell to Roy Hoelscher for a touchdown. It was 48-34 with 9:58 to go.

We already had a lot of points, but the scoring continued as Dundy County Stratton continued to score, as Trynt Unger scored from 59 yards away with 9:33 to go in the game. It was 54-34.

The Tigers closed things out and got the win.

For Cambridge, they had 241 yards rushing and 118 yards passing. Braxton Mitchell had 133 yards rushing and three touchdowns. He was 9-of-23 passing with 118 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. Devan Rodriguez recorded 85 yards rushing. Roy Hoelscher had 84 yards receiving and two touchdowns. Cambridge is 2-1 and will play at Wauneta-Palisade on Friday.

For DCS, they had 380 yards rushing and 97 yards passing. Breck Horner recorded 97 yards passing and a touchdown, and 36 yards rushing and one touchdown. Noah Zoltenko was a monster on offense: 274 yards rushing, five touchdowns, and 21 receiving yards. Trynt Unger had 61 yards rushing and 33 yards receiigin and two total touchdowns.

DCS is now 2-1 and will host Brady on Friday.
