HITCHCOCK COUNTY FALL SEASON PREVIEW

Hitchcock County Football Taking it Day by Day

For the Hitchcock County Falcon football team, they are looking to build off of a nice season a year ago when they went 10-2. And from that team, the Falcons return some athletes that saw a lot of playing time. Including senior quarterback Keynan Gaston. Gaston had a huge year as he recorded nearly 2,000 total yards and 33 touchdowns for the Falcons.

Also returning is his top target Kolyn Gaston who snared 13 passes for 339 yards and eight touchdowns.

Head Coach of the Falcons, Randall Rath says though they are just focusing on getting better each day. "We are trying to get better every day. Big key for us, is to get better today than we were yesterday."

The Falcons will begin the season on Friday, August 26th at Bayard.

Hitchcock County Excited to get XC Season Going

Hitchcock County Head Coach, Natalie Thiessen kept it pretty simple when it came to discussing the season. "Excited to see what the year will bring." And part of the reason she is excited because she has a nice blend of returners and newcomers.

Some of those returners include seniors Blake Devitt, Landon Tines, and Bailey Hidy. The newcomer that Thiessen mentioned Alex Stanley, a freshman to watch in 2022.

Hitchcock County will begin the season on Thursday, August 25th at the DCS Invite.

Falcons to Feature a Young, but Determined Volleyball Team

In 2022 for the Hitchcock County Volleyball team, there may be some growing pains after losing four starter to graduation. But fourth year Head Coach Lisa Faimon says this group is ready to go this season. "We are coming back from graduating four starters, we are young, but very determined and dedicated to the season. We are excited to see what this year will bring."

Junior Katie Jarecke will be one of those players who will step into a bigger role as she had 87 kills last season and 273 digs. Madison Gestenslager will also play a pivotal role she also is a junior, and last year had 77 kills.

Hitchcock County will begin the season on Thursday, August 25th at Wauneta-Palisade.
