
Hitchcock County Girl's Hoops to be led by Youth
Following an 8-15 season, the Hitchcock County Girl's Basketball team will be looking to build with a young team. "We will be a young group with no seniors on the roster. All of our girls will need to continue to develop and improve throughout the year. We will have to focus on taking care of the ball, taking good shots, and limiting other teams second chance points," said head Coach Mike Tines.
The Falcons return Katie Jarecke, a junior, who averaged seven points and three rebounds per game a year ago. They also will look for contributions from Byanka Tyan, a junior who averaged five points and five rebounds last season.
The Falcons begin the season on Thursday, December 1st at Cambridge.
Hitchcock County Boy's Basketball Team Prepares for Season
For the Hitchcock County Boy's Basketball team, they have a short time to get ready following a long football season, that ended with a championship trophy. But, expect to see the Falcons ready to go to begin the season. Head coach of the Falcons, Randall Rath, said he's excited about this group. "(We) have to play some young kids. Will be a fun season, and exciting. We have good kids, and that always makes it enjoyable."
The Falcons will look to Trent Kisker, Drew Scott, and Keynan Gaston to lead the way.
The Falcons begin the season on Thursday, December 1st at Cambridge.
