What a night for the #3 seeded Southwest Roughriders. They are heading to the NSAA Class D6 State Championship on Friday, November 21st, after a 35-0 win over #2 seeded Red Cloud in the semifinals.

Red Cloud had the ball to begin the game, but couldn't muster up much offense, and Southwest took over. The Riders had an effective opening possession, scoring on a one-yard touchdown run by Houston Billeter. Southwest led 7-0 and carried that into the second period.

In the second half, Southwest scored in the third on a one-yard pass from Billeter to Kelley and made it 35-0.

The Roughriders played tough defense and closed out the game. Red Cloud played a hard-fought game, too and gave great effort.

Billeter did have a left shoulder injury in the game, but we have been told he will be able to play in the title game.
