MAXWELL WINTER SPORTS PREVIEW

Tough Schedule but Experienced Team for Wildcat Boy's Basketball

After a 10-16 campaign in 2021-2022, Maxwell is looking to turn things around this year. Luckily for the Wildcats, they return four starters including Ty Robinson, a big senior guard who stands at 6'3 and hit 73 three-pointers a year ago. The Wildcats will be under the direction of head coach Quin Conner and he had this to say about the upcoming season. "(We) face a challenging schedule again, but return a ton of varsity experience with the loss of only one senior from last year. (We) will be one of the tallest teams in area, and hope to use that to our advantage."

The Wildcats will begin the year on Friday, December 2nd at home versus Sandhills-Thedford.

New Coach to Lead Maxwell Girl's Basketball

For the Maxwell Wildcat Girls Basketball team, they will be learning a new system as they are under the direction of a new coach. First-year head coach Annie Seamann will be leading the Wildcats. She comes into a situation that includes four players with starting experience. That includes Jenna Miller, sophomore, guard; Laynee Boltz, junior, guard; Jocelyn Cheek, junior, center; and Mataya Stubbs, senior, guard.

"(We are) looking for strength in our post work. Relying on returning leadership to set the tone. (A) new head coach means lots of changes, we have a lot of youth on our side," said Seamann. The Wildcats will begin the year on Friday, December 2nd at home versus Sandhills-Thedford.
