PAXTON SPRING SPORTS PREVIEW


PAXTON GIRLS LOOK FOR COMPETITIVE SEASON

Head coach for Paxton, Scott Jorgensen, is entering his 10th year as Paxton's head coach and is in his 19th year of coaching overall. With a large number of athletes on the roster this spring, he is looking forward to filling events to be competitive at meets but specifically, the RPAC and D-8 District meets.


Returning state qualifiers for the Tigers are Audrey Holm in shot put and discus and Jacelyn Jorgensen in discus. Newcomers look to be Jordan Clouse in high jump and Marlee Gleason in sprints.


Paxton will open their season at the Hershey Invitational on March 25th.


TIGERS OPTIMISTIC ABOUT TRACK AND FIELD SEASON

Head coach for the Paxton boy's track and field team, Scott Jorgensen, said that this year is one of the largest participation numbers that he has had in the last several years. He is very excited about how this group will compete this spring.


Returning state qualifiers are Gunner Foster in the pole vault and Rylin Johns qualified in cross country this fall so Jorgensen looks for him to find some success this spring.


There are several newcomers that Jorgensen looks to be contributors as well. Easton Finch in shot put and discus, Tanner Hebblethwaite in distance, and Wyatt Walker and Joe Eakins in sprints.


Paxton's first meet will be the Hershey Invitational on March 25th.


PAXTON GOLFERS RETURN EXPERIENCE, ALSO FEATURE NEWCOMERS


For the Paxton Tiger Golf Team, they will be under the direction of first year head coach Anthony Julian. Julian says they have a pair of golfers that return with experience, but there are some new members to the team. "We have two golfers that were on the team last year and will have six golfers all together this year. There are quite a few young guys that are playing this year and I am excited to see how they progress through the next couple of years.," said Julian.


Jacob Holzfaster, a senior made state last year and placed 19th and Ethan Hardin, a sophomore played well at districts a year ago. The Tigers will start their season on March 28th at their own invite.
