We had the chance to chat with Cambridge's Mallory Springer, a senior at Cambridge, and do a fun Q&A blog post.

Q. Pregame ritual or superstition?

A. I'd say my biggest pregame ritual is talking with teammates and just connecting with them before we play. Also, I am really into just listening to music and taking my time to get ready.

Q. What does teamwork mean to you?

A. Teamwork in my words/view is the ability of a group to put aside their personal lives and do everything in their willpower to achieve a common goal not only sports, but also life.

Q. What does it mean to be a Role model for youth?

A. Being a role model for the youth has truly helped me transform into not only a good player/leader on the court but has helped shape my values and become more vocal about what I believe in with all aspects of my life.

Q. You’re going to be a senior, how does your leadership role change?

A. Honestly, I think my role for the team changed more going into Junior year. I had to turn from more of a passive leader into a motivator and vocal leader of the team. I hope to continue to strengthen that and also find new ways to push people around me.

Q. Favorite Memory From Competing in Sports and why?

A. My favorite sports memory would have to be my first top ten camp going into sophomore year. I remember so vividly playing Cedar Catholic (which is who we had lost to first round of state the year prior) and I had set a 4 to Jalen Kent for game point and after that all the going to be seniors that year were hyping me up which was pretty cool.

Q. Favorite Meal?

A. My favorite meal has to be anything chicken and pasta. I am such a ride or die pasta fan.

Q. If you could make the ultimate sandwich, what would be on it?

A. I think my ultimate sandwich would be whole grain bread with sliced turkey, mayo, colby jack, and lettuce. Pretty basic.

Q. Playlists or podcasts?

A. For sure, playlists.

Q. Fruits or vegetables?

A. I've always been more of a veggies and ranch lover.

Q. Text or call?

A. Definitely text, I hate the pressure of having to provide clear-cut answers right away so texting is definitely my preferred method of communication.
