Alma was scheduled to have a pair of games this past week, Blue Hill on Tuesday and Franklin on Thursday. The weather forced the postponement of the Blue Hill game. So, the Cardinals played just Franklin on Thursday. Alma was able to snag the win, 66-54. The Cardinals are now 7-1. They will face Amherst on Tuesday, Hi-Line on Thursday, and Hitchcock County on Friday.
Arapahoe had one game this past week, against a conference foe, Medicine Valley on Friday. The Warriors won in a close one, 61-60 over the Raiders. Arapahoe had three players in double figures as Will Shaw had 10 points, Ander Wasenius had 12, and Cooper Wendlend with 14.
Bertrand was slated to have three games this past week but their matchup Tuesday night against Wilcox-Hildreth was canceled. They played Southern Valley on Friday night and fell 46-41. Chonsey Bieker had 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Vikings. Bertrand then fell to South Loup 48-31. Bieker again had a nice game rebounding with 17 of them. Adan Gonzales led Bertrand with seven points. Bertrand is 4-5 on the year and will play Southwest on Friday and Overton on Saturday this week.
Cambridge had just one game this week as their Tuesday night game versus Norton was postponed. The Trojans faced their rival Southwest and won big, 60-32. Per the stats on MaxPreps, the Trojans outrebounded the Roughriders 41 to 20. Will Taylor led the way for Cambridge with 14 points. Cambridge is 5-6 and will face Sutherland on Friday and Maxwell on Saturday.
Dundy County Stratton had two other games this week following their Tuesday night game versus Chase County being\ postponed. They beat Alliance in a barn-burner, double-overtime game, 69-66. The Tigers then beat Wray, CO 65-45. The Tigers are 8-2 on the season and they will face Hitchcock County on Tuesday and Loomis on Saturday.
Hitchcock County had just one game after their Tuesday night matchup was canceled when they were set to play Southwest. They took on Wauneta-Palisade on Friday and won 56-24. The Falcons are now 7-2 and will play DCS Tuesday, Alma Friday, and Cody-Kilgore on Saturday.
Maywood-Hayes Center had a busy week, with three games in three nights. They beat Sandhills-Valley 63-33. Jeremiah Ingison had a nice game with 22 points. The Wolves then took on Paxton, in a rematch and won big 55-20. On Saturday, they beat Hi-Line big too, 79-42. The Wolves remain undefeated at 13-0. They will play Maxwell on Tuesday and Arthur County on Friday.
Maxwell had two games this past week and they dropped both of them. They took on Hershey and fell 55-47. Then they played Overton and lost in a close one 36-35. The Wildcats are now 2-7 and will play Maywood-Hayes Center Tuesday, South Loup Friday, and Cambridge on Saturday.
Medicine Valley ended up playing only one game after their matchup against Wallace was postponed. The Raiders played Arapahoe and lost 61-60. The Raiders are now 1-8 this year. They will play Sandhills Valley on Tuesday and Mullen on Saturday.
Paxton had one game this past week and they fell to Maywood-Hayes Center 55-20. Josh Eakins had six points to lead the Tigers. Paxton is 6-2 on the year and they will face Perkins County on Tuesday, Creek Valley on Thursday, and Wallace on Friday this week.
Southern Valley had two games this past week and came away victorious in both of them. First, they took down Franklin 58-56. Matthew Henderson had a nice game with 20 points and Kamden Bose scored 13. Southern Valley then faced Bertrand and won another close game, 46-41. Henderson had 13 points, Mitchel Wilson had 10, and Isaac Hamilton had 10. Southern Valley is 5-4 and will play Chase County on Tuesday and Holdrege in Friday.
Southwest had their Tuesday evening game versus Hitchcock County canceled. But they had two more games during the week. They played Cambridge on Friday and fell 60-32. Hunter Cunningham had seven points for the Roughriders. Southwest bounced back in a big way as they beat Wauneta-Palisade 48-24. Southwest is now 4-6 and will play Hi-Line Tuesday and Bertrand on Friday.
Wallace had two games this week after they were set to play Medicine Valley on Tuesday, as that game was postponed. They took on Arthur County on Friday and got a nice win, 48-33. Trey Robertson had an awesome game as he scored 28 points. Wallace then fell to Mullen, 54-23. Robertson had 10 points. Wallace is 2-6 this now and will play South Platte on Thursday and Paxton on Friday.
Wauneta-Palisade had a pair of games this week as they played Hitchcock County and fell 56-24. Then they fell to Southwest 48-24. The Broncos are now 2-9 and will play Perkins County on Friday and Garden County on Saturday.
