RPAC Boys Basketball Results as of 12/28

Before the Holiday Break, a handful of RPAC Basketball Teams competed. Let's dive into those results.


Alma


The Alma Cardinals had two games this past week, and they were able to get wins in both of them. First, they beat Medicine Valley 84-38. Alma scored at least 18 points in each quarter, so an impressive offensive output from the Cardinals. As a team they shot a solid 51% from the field. Tucker Biskup was solid on offense with 23 points and seven assists. Zavier Mitchell and Creighton Lynch were effective on offense too, adding 18 points and 15 points. Mitchell totaled 12 rebounds as well.


The Cardinals kept up their strong play as they beat Holdrege by a final score of 64-30. Holdrege led at the end of the first, 13-12, but Alma got things rolling after that, leading 27-23 at halftime, and never looked back.


Mitchell scored 18 points again, Biskup totaled 16. Mitchell had another double-double with 10 rebounds.


Alma moves to 7-1 and will play Axtell on January 5th.

Arapahoe


Arapahoe was off last week and will begin play in the Bob Braithwait Holiday Tournament in Arapahoe on Monday, December 29th. They play Blue Hill first. Arapahoe is 0-7


Bertrand


Bertrand had the week off They will compete in the Elm Creek Holiday Tournament on Monday, the 29th, against Arcadia/Loup City. Bertrand is 5-2.


Cambridge


The Trojans had the week off prior to Christmas. They are 2-3 this season and will play in the Loomis Holiday Tournament. They start playing on Monday, the 29th, versus Loomis.


Dundy County Stratton


The Tigers of DCS had the week off, and their record is 6-0. They will play Decatur Community on January 8th. That game is a home game for the Tigers.



Hitchcock County


The Falcons had the week off before the Holidays. They are 3-3 and will face Brady at home on January 2nd.


Hi-Line


The Bulls of Hi-Line had some time off before the NSAA Moratorium. They will play on Tuesday, December 30th, at Lawrence-Nelson. Hi-Line is 5-2 this season.


Maywood-Hayes Center


Maywood-Hayes Center competed in the Paxton Pre-Holiday Tournament on Monday and Tuesday. On Monday, they played Garden County and won a close game, 56-53. The Wolves used a 21-10 fourth period to come back and win. Oliver Anders had eight points and grabbed 19 rebounds. Keenan Richards had 28 points and 12 rebounds, and Kade Broz added 14 points.


In the title game, the Wolves played Paxton. It was another close game; this time, MHC lost, 47-41.


MHC is 7-2 and will play at Cambridge on January 2nd.

Maxwell


Maxwell hosted its Booster Club Tournament and went 1-1 on the week. First, on Monday the 22nd, they beat Brady, 47-39. Jesse Reyes scored 22 points for MHC and had 12 rebounds, too. Jagger Kleewein had 13 points for Maxwell, too.


In the championship game, Maxwell faced South Loup. The Wildcats dropped the game, 63-42. Tayton Phillips led the scoring for Maxwell with 14 points.


Medicine Valley


Medicine Valley had one game this past week, and it was against Alma. The Raiders dropped the game by a final of 84-38. Ethan Brown led the scoring with 13 points, and Mason Roblee had 12. As a team, the Raiders struggled to knock down shots on a consistent basis, at 33%.


Medicine Valley is 5-3 and will play next on January 6th against Wallace at home.


Paxton


Paxton competed in their Pre-Holiday Tournament and ended up winning the tourney. First, they beat Hyannis 65-46. A big second quarter was key for the Tigers, as they scored 23 points while holding Hyannis to eight. For the Tigers, Maddex McConnell had 24 points and nine rebounds. Tristen Hebblethwaite had 14 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists.


Paxton then took down Maywood-Hayes Center, 47-41. Hebblethwaite was solid again with a triple-double: 11 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists. An all-around game, to say the least.


Paxton is 5-3 and will face Cambridge on January 3rd at home.

Southern Valley


Southern Valley had the week off. They are 2-6 nd will play at Southwest on January 3rd.


Southwest


The Roughriders had the week off; they hold a record of 2-5 at this point. They will host Southern Valley on Saturday, January 3rd.

Sutherland


The Sailors did not have any games this past week. They are 3-3 and will face Potter-Dox on January 2nd, on the road.


Wallace


Wallace did not have any games this last week, and they are 5-1. The Wildcats will play Centura in the Loomis Holiday Tournament on Monday, the 29th.


Wauneta-Palisade


Wauneta-Palisade did not have any games last week. They are 1-5 and will face Bertrand on January 2nd.
