#6 SEM @ #3 Southwest

Southwest just keeps making history. Since Southwest became a school, they had never made it past the second round, and their last playoff win was in 2006 against Burwell. Now Bartley was a champ in 1991 in Class D3, had a championship in 1982 in C1, and a runner-up in 1977, and other playoff wins, but the Roughriders keep breaking records. Most recently, they beat SEM in a close one, 27-23.

It was a tough game, which was expected. Houston Billter had 90 yards rushing, 78 yards passing, 35 yards receiving, and a score. Billeter threw two interceptions in the game. Deric Kelley had 35 yards passing, a touchdown, and five catches for 52 yards. Damario Koetter had 39 yards rushing and a score, and Jacob Barber had 17 yards and a touchdown. Gage Hammond led the tackling effort with 14, and Barber added 10.

SEM was led by Chance Dakke, who had 192 yards passing, two scores, and threw a pick, and Preston Beattie had 125 yards rushing and a score. SEM closes the season at 7-3.

Southwest moves to 10-0, and will face #2 Red Cloud in the Class D6 semifinals at 6:00 P.M. on the road on Friday.
