RPAC Softball Results as of 10/4

The Southern Valley/Alma Saints have been battling both opponents and the weather to try and get games in. In the previous week, they dropped a couple of games on September 21st, 11-1 to Central City and then 9- 8 to Ord.
So this week, they tried to get back on the winning side ahead of postseason play. On Monday the 28th, SVA hosted a triangular with Kearney Catholic and Chase County. In their game against Kearney Catholic, they lost 11-0. The Saints had one hit and four errors. For the Stars, they totaled 11 runs on seven hits. Six of those runs came in the second inning.

Kaitlyn Bradley had the lone hit for SVA.
The Saints, though, captured a big win against Chase County, 19-7. SVA totaled 19 runs on 14 hits. They scored 15 of the runs in the first and second innings. Eight different Saints players had hits. Kaitlyn Bradley went 3-3 with three RBIs, Alexa Miller was 2-2 with and RBI, Ava Dunse was 2-2 with an RBI, Macy Johnson was 1-2 with an RBI, Jorja Hammond was 2-2 with an RBI, Hayden Deyle was 1-3 with three RBIs, Sydney Baker was 1-3 with and RBI, and Anna Hamilton was 2-2 with two RBIs. Mikah Schultz collected an RBI too.

In the circle, Anna Hamilton went 2.0 innings, allowed four hits, five runs, three earned, and had three strikeouts. Alexa Miller went 1.0 innings, allowing no hits, two runs, two earned, and three strikeouts.

The Saints close out the regular season with a 14-10 record. The Saints will now compete in Subdsitrct play. They are in the C-3 District with #1 seed Bishop Neumann, #2 seed Twin River, and #4 seed Gothenburg. SVA is the #3 seed. These will be played at Hackberry Fields in Wahoo. The Saints matchup with Twin River, who are 12-12 on the season. That game is at 12:45 P.M. CT on Monday, October 5th. If they win, they move on to play at 2:30 P.M. CT Check out the bracket here.
