RPAC Softball Results as of 9/22

The Southern Valley/Alma Saints had two games last week and unfortunately for them, it didn't go as planned. They played Centura on Tuesday and Hershey on Thursday, both of the games were losses.

In that game on Tuesday versus Centura, the Saints fell 9-3. The Saints controlled the game for about half of the matchup. They led 3-0 going to the bottom half of the fourth inning. Centura scored a pair of runs and it was 3-2 going to the fifth.

It was a monster sixth inning for Centura, scoring seven runs to go up 9-3. In the top half of the seventh, the Saints could not get the offense going.

For Southern Valley/Alma, they had five hits as a team. Brynn Baily went 1-3, Macy Adams was 1-3 with an RBI, Mikah Schultz went 1-2 with an RBI, Amy Luke was 1-3, and Alex Meyers was 1-3.

The Saints tried to bounce back in a matchup versus Hershey, on the road again. Hershey took down Southern Valley/Alma in a tight matchup, 3-2. It took some time to get a run on the board; the bottom of the third inning. Hershey was able to put up a run and led 1-0 going into the fourth. In the top of the seventh inning, Southern Valley/Alma tied things up at 1-1.

Nothing happened for Hershey after that so they went to extra innings. Southern Valley/Alma scored in the top of the eighth to go up 2-1. Hershey scored two more runs and went up 3-2 and won the game.

Baily was 1-3, Jorja Hammond was 1-2 with an RBI, my Luke was 1-3 with an RBI. In the circle, both Schultz and Baily were excellent. Schulz went four innings, one hit, one strikeout. Bailey went 3.1 innings, allowed two hits, two runs, one earned run, three walks, and six strikeouts.

Entering this week, the Saints are 12-7 with games Monday at Central City's Triangular with central City and Ord (They split games at the triangular which we will go more in-depth on next week's blog!). Then, they have Highway 6 on the road on Thursday.
