The wrestling season came to a close on Saturday at the State Wrestling Tournament in Omaha at the CHI Health Event Center. The RPAC was well represented as there were 26 wrestlers, both boys and girls included, who qualified for the state meet. Check out how they did in the blog below.
Day one of the tournament brought seven wrestlers who advanced to the quarterfinals that while the remaining wrestlers were done until Friday. Madelyn Tryon of Southwest, Braxton Hammond of Southern Valley, Tanner McLain of Hitchcock County, Dierks Sayer of Cambridge, Hunter Perks of Cambridge, Jeremy Felix of Alma, and Taylor Hubl were the seven that advanced to the quarterfinals.
Hammond and Tryon both advanced to the semifinals while the rest moved to the second round of the consolation bracket.

Day two of the tournament brought the semifinals and the heartbreak round.
Jaycob Young of Maxwell clinched his 100th career win on day two.
Both Tryon and Hammond lost in the semifinals to move to the consolation bracket.
Tryon, Hammond, Briggs Hill of Arapahoe, Perks, and Felix all survived the heartbreak round to secure a state medal and advance to wrestle on Saturday.

On day three three RPAC wrestlers came home with a third-place medal, one fifth-place medal, and a sixth-place medal.
