It was a picture-perfect night for softball as the Southern Valley/Alma Saints hosted HWY 6 as we wind down the regular season for softball in Stamford. The Saints battled hard but ultimately fell by a final score of 7-3.

SVA is in Class C, and HWY 6 is in Class B.

SVA took control of the game in the 1st inning by scoring a run in the bottom of the first as Hayden Deyle scored on an error. HWY 6 countered with a run of their own in the top of the 2nd inning. SVA stayed composed as Macy Adams grounded out, but Kaitlyn Bradley scored to make it 2-1.

The teams were unable to get much going on offense until the top of the 6th inning. HWY 6 exploded for six runs and led 7-2. The Saints had a chance to tie or even come back and take the lead, but it would take some work. With two outs, the bases were loaded, with Alex Meyers on third, Josa Dunse on second base, and Alexa Miller on first. Deyle walked, and it was 7-3. For the Saints, though, the next batter, Ava Dunse, grounded out despite making nice contact on the ball.

In the 7th inning, neither team was able to score any runs on offense.

It was a good effort from the Saints as they put themselves in a spot to make things very interesting.

HWY 6 had nine hits and three errors. For SVA, they had two hits and four errors.

For HWY 6, Katherine Marshall was 3-4 with two RBI's, McKninley Jauken was 2-4 with an RBI, Kaleah Boulware had an RBI, Abigail Reith had an RBI, and Stella Birkstrand was 2-4 with an RBI. Addisyn Norris went 7 innings and allowed two hits, two earned runs, allowed nine walks, and five strikeouts.

For SVA, Kaitlyn Bradley had two walks, Macy Adams had two walks and an RBI, and Hayden Deyle was 1-1 with two walks and an RBI. Riley Aerni went 5.1 innings, allowed six hits, four runs, one earned, and two strikeouts. Josa Dunse allowed a hit, three runs, two earned, and Mikah Schutlz went 1.2 innings and allowed two hits, and had three strikeouts.
