Three RPAC Wrestlers Advance to State Semifinals

On Tuesday, February 17th, the 2026 NSAA Girls State Wrestling Tournament began in Omaha at the CHI Health Center. The RPAC was represented by 10 wrestlers from five schools. All the wrestlers will continue to compete tomorrow, including three girls in the semifinals. Check out the day one recap!

At 100 pounds, Cali Santifer of Southern Valley/Arapahoe entered the tournament with a record of 19-11. She defeated Mollie Bates of Wilber-Clatonia by major decision, 17-9, to advance to the quarterfinals. Santifer fell in her quarterfinal match to Azlynn Johnson of Stanton in 2:30. She will now wrestle on Wednesday morning in the second-round consolation matches, which will follow the first-round matches. She will face the winner of Anna Dworak of Elgin Public/Pope John and McKenna Hernandez of Ord.


Capri Sayer of Southwest entered the tournament with a record of 42-4 at 100 pounds. She defeated McKenna Hernandez of Ord by fall in 0:33 to advance to the quarterfinals. Sayer faced Hayleigh Darling of Yutan in the quarterfinals, and it was a tough match. Sayer lost to Darling by an 8-7 decision. Even in defeat, she wrestled a solid match.


She will now wrestle on Wednesday morning in the second-round consolation matches, which will follow the first-round matches. She will face the winner of Alexa Rogers of Adams Central and Mollie Bates of Wilber-Clatonia.



At 110 pounds, Laney Becker of Southern Valley/Arapahoe entered the tournament with a record of 34-7. Becker wrestled really well and at a high level, but unfortunately fell to Caly Settles of Aurora in 3:32. She moves to the consolation bracket on Wednesday morning and will face Sadie Keogh of West Holt.


Alyssa Koch of Southwest entered the tournament with a record of 39-14 at 115 pounds. She wrestled hard and came out aggressive, but fell to Leynn Luna of Boone Central in 1:52 to move to the consolation bracket. She will wrestle on Wednesday morning against Allie Oligmueller of West Holt.

At 115 pounds, Hayley Serfontein of Southern Valley/Arapahoe entered the tournament with a record of 33-1. She defeated Brooklyn Ruskamp of Arlington by tech fall, 18-1, and advanced to the quarterfinals. Serfontein faced Khloe Wiseman of Adams Central and won by fall in 4:35.


We caught up with Serfontein how it felt after her quarterfinal win. "I am definitely excited...I have never made it this far...but I am super excited to have come this far. I have worked hard for this, and I deserve this," said Serfontein.


No matter how Serfontein finishes the meet, she will be the first girl in their program's history to bring home a medal from state. She will face Leynn Luna of Boone Central.

Ceann McIntosh of Maxwell entered the tournament with a record of 28-7 at 120 pounds. She fell to Sherly Gonzalez of Aurora in 1:44 to move to the consolation matches on Wednesday morning and will face Sofie Lewis of Arlington.



At 190 pounds, Skylar Johnson of Paxton entered the tournament with a record of 38-12. Johnson advanced to the quarterfinals with a pin over Aizlynn Wichman of Lakeview in 1:32. In the quarterfinal match, she fell to Ida Bumgarner of Broken Bow in 2:22. Johnson will face the winner of Maycee Beat of Holdrege and Ana Aguirre Flores of West Point-Beemer in the second round consolation matches.

Addison Arvdal of Sutherland entered the tournament with a record of 39-0 at 190 pounds. Arvdal took care of business with a pin in 0:48 over MayCee Beat of Holdrege to advance to the quarterfinals. With that pin, Arvdal achieved her 100th career pin.


In Arvdal's quarterfinal match, she faced Elizabeth DeRoos of Crofton/Bloomfield and earned another win by fall in 1:47. With the win, Arvdal will advance to the semifinals tomorrow and will face Lainey Abell of Centennial. She will look to repeat as the Class B State Champion at 190 pounds.


We caught up with Arvdal after the quarterfinal win and asked how it feels to reach that match again. "It feels amazing. I have been working hard for this all season on and off the mat, so I am ready for it," said Arvdal.


At 235 pounds, Elena Lee of Southern Valley/Arapahoe entered the tournament with a record of 16-16. She fell to Quinlyn Statz of Adams Central in 1:38. Lee will wrestle Wednesday morning in the consolation matches against Honey Luby Bartling of Summerland.



Madelyn Tryon of Southwest entered the tournament with a record of 45-3 at 235 pounds. Tryon defeated Brett Buss of Burwell by fall in 2:16 to advance to the quarterfinals. She defeated Carleigh Jackson of West Holt by fall in 3:16 to advance to the semifinals. Tryon will face JaeLeigh Miller of Lyons-Decatur-Northeast.


We got to chat with Tryon after the quarterfinals and chatted about staying focused. "I will get some sleep and maybe get some good food, so I am nice and ready for tomorrow, and also listen to my music," said Tryon.


Wrestling in the first-round consolation matches that begin on Wednesday morning at 9:00 A.M. CT will be Laney Becker of Southern Valley/Arapahoe, Alyssa Koch of Southwest, Ceann McIntosh of Maxwell, and Elena Lee of Southern Valley/Arapahoe.


Wrestling in the second-round consolation matches, which will follow the first-round consolation matches, will be Cali Santifer of Southern Valley/Arapahoe, Capri Sayer of Southwest, and Skylar Johnson of Paxton.


Wrestling in the semifinals, along with third-round consolation matches on Wednesday at 12:30 P.M. CT. Hayley Serfontein of Southern Valley/Arapahoe, Addison Arvdal of Sutherland, and Madelyn Tryon of Southwest will be in those semifinals


Medal matches follow the semis and third-round consolations, and at 6:00 P.M. CT, the championship matches take place.
