Wallace Moves to 6-1 After Win Against Wauneta-Palisade, Broncos Now 4-3

Wallace hit the road to play Wauneta-Palisade on Friday for a battle on the football field. The Wildcats were able to capture the win with a final score of 60-20. Wallace got the game started with a 43-yard touchdown run from Asthin Johns to make it 6-0 just 10 seconds into the game.

Wauneta-Palisade countered with a 47-yard touchdown run about a minute later by Kreyton Wiese. It was 7-6 in favor of Wauneta-Palisade at that point. Tyson Sullivan for Wallace, then returned the next kickoff for a touchdown to reclaim the lead at 12-7 with 8:35 in the first.

Just before the end of the period, Ivan Aceves scored for Wallace on a 33-yard touchdown run, and it was 20-7. That score carried over to the second period.

In the second quarter, Wiese scored again, a one-yard touchdown run to make it 20-14. Wallace answered back with a two-yard run by Johns to push the lead to 28-14 with 6:25 remaining in the half.

On the ensuing kickoff, Wauneta-Palisade coughed up the football, and Wallace recovered it. The Wildcats made the extra possession count as Sullivan scored from four yards away to push the lead to 35-14.

Wauneta-Palisade scored on its next possession, a six-yard run by Wiese to make it 36-20 late in the half.

Wallace stayed aggressive, as Colt Franklin found Brayden Gardner on a 44-yard pass. It was 44-20 going to halftime.

In the third quarter, the Wildcats closed out the scoring for the night as Sullivan scored on a 23-yard touchdown and then Ivan Aceves punched it in from a couple of yards out.

As a team, they had 178 yards rushing. Kameran McCrumb had 72 yards rushing. Kreyton Wiese had 95 yards rushing and three touchdowns. Nathan Hiett had 33 yards passing. Wiese had 31 yards receiving. David Bryner led the tackling effort with seven of them.

Wallace Unofficial Stats

For Wallace, they had 283 yards rushing and 61 yards passing. Asthin Johns had 105 yards and two touchdowns, Ivan Aceves had 66 yards and two touchdowns, and Tyson Sullivan totaled 36 yards and two scores. Colt Franklin had 61 yards passing and a touchdown. Brayden Gardner had two catches for 49 yards and a score. Sullivan had a catch for 12 yards.
