Week 3 RPAC Football Results

Crazy to think we are already through week three of the football season. RPAC schools remained busy and now some teams begin to prepare for district play. Before we get into the football rundown, check out our weekly scoreboard sponsored by MNB Realty.

Alma hit the road on Friday and played against Bertrand and the Cardinals played a complete game on both sides of the ball winning 46-6. That matchup was our RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup and you can view the game story here. Alma will face Arapahoe on Friday in a big D1-9 District battle.

The last two weeks were a nice measuring stick for the Arapahoe Warriors. This week they took on Lawrence-Nelson and they won 70-40. The tone was set by Arapahoe from the beginning as they put up 20 points in the first quarter and led 20-8 after the opening period. In the second and third quarters, they scored 50 points to create a large gap. Arapahoe is 3-0 and will face off against Alma on Friday evening in a big D1-9 District matchup.
Bertrand ran into a tough Alma team at home on Friday and fell 46-6. That matchup was our RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup and you can view the game story here. Bertrand is now 0-3 and will face top-10-rated Dundy County Stratton on Friday.

Cambridge hosted Ravenna for Homecoming on Friday. the Trojans were unable to get the win falling 30-20. The Trojans trailed 22-0 at the half. Cambridge made a comeback bid scoring 20 points in the second half. Carson Trompke was 12-28 with 183 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. His go-to receiver was Ben Hoberty with five catches, 128 yards, and two touchdowns. Cambridge is 1-2 and will face Southern Valley on Friday.
Dundy County Stratton moved to 3-0 on the season after another dominant performance. They took on Axtell and won by a final score of 36-0. The story was two items, they pitched a shutout, and their offense was balanced. Lane Brown was 7-13 passing with 174 yards and four touchdowns. Ethan Latta again did a little bit of everything with 102 yards rushing, 37 yards receiving, and three total touchdowns. The Tigers will play Bertrand this Friday on the road.
Hitchcock County ran into an excellent South Loup team on Friday and lost 46-0. The young Falcons will continue to find their footing early in the season. Right now the Falcons are 1-2 on the season. As they will face another stout opponent next week when they go to Loomis on Friday.
Maxwell went to Southern Valley on Thursday and fell, 66-48. This game was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup so you can view the game story here. Maxwell is 1-2 and will face Sandhills Valley this Friday.

Maywood-Hayes Center took on Silver Lake on Friday and fell 36-21. The Wolves were down by just six after the first quarter, but in the second period, Silver Lake made a push before halftime and led 22-7. In the second half, each team scored 14 and MHC couldn't cut the deficit. Kody Schwenk was a dual threat with 137 yards passing, 90 yards rushing, and three total touchdowns. Sawyer Dibbern had 96 yards receiving with a score and Jeremiah Ingison had 52 yards and a score through the air. Dibbern was solid on defense too, 21, yes 21 tackles in the game. MHC is now 1-2 and will face Medicine Valley on the road on Friday for a rivalry matchup.
The Raiders of Medicine Valley faced Overton this past Friday and lost 55-0. The Raiders couldn't slow down the Eagles as they fell behind 43-0 in the first half. Medicine Valley is now 0-3 and will play MHC on Friday at home.
Southern Valley had a big night on Thursday in their 66-48 win over Maxwell including Kody Collins and his 333 rushing yards and six touchdowns. A new 8-man school record. Southern Valley is 2-1 and will have Cambridge at home this Friday in a district matchup.

Southwest had a tough Wilcox-Hildreth team in town on Friday night and fell to the Falcons 44-37. At the half, Southwest trailed 44-23. In the second half, they made a nice comeback bid but were unable to totally complete it. Houston Billiter was 12-24 with 225 yards passing and two touchdowns. Nathan Rippe had 49 yards rushing and a touchdown. Rippe also caught seven balls for 132 yards and two touchdowns. Trenton Williams caught four balls for 78 yards and a score. Southwest is 1-1 and will play Creek Valley this Thursday on the road.
It was a heartbreaker for the Wallace Wildcats this week. They dropped their second game of the season with a 43-42 loss to Garden County. The Wildcats led 34-30 heading into the final quarter. The Eagles though scored 13 points to the Wildcats eight. Ivan Aceves had 100 yards rushing and a touchdown and Riuley Strawder had 67 yards and two touchdowns for Wallace. The Wildcats are 0-2 and will face South Platte this Friday.
In their third game of the season, Wauneta-Palisade played against Sioux County. The Broncos fell in the game 20-12. Aden Acton had four catches for 28 yards and a touchdown, Blake Nickerson had two catches for 37 yards and a touchdown, and Kreyton Wiese had four catches for 54 yards. Nathan Blackman was 11-23 passing with 123 yards and two scores. They are now 1-2 on the season and will have the week off before playing Southwest on Friday, September 22nd.
