55 RPAC Speech Contestants Qualify for State

District speech has wrapped up, and 55 students from 13 RPAC schools will represent at the NSAA State Speech Meet at Kearney High School. Class C2 will compete on Friday, March 27th, and Classes D1 and D2 will compete on Saturday, March 28th.

C2-5 District, 3/17

Arapahoe placed 5th, Southern Valley placed 6th, and Alma placed 9th in this district, which was hosted by Elm Creek.


Arapahoe had three state qualifiers. Isabelle Roberts placed 2nd in serious prose, Hailey DeVries placed 3rd in persuasive, and Bobbie Dunn placed 2nd in POI (program of oral interpretation).


C2-6 District, 3/20

Maxwell was the C2-6 District Champion, and Dundy County Stratton finished 5th, which was hosted by Perkins County.


In duet, Emma Baldeh and Lila Baldeh of Dundy County Stratton placed 1st, and Emmeline Lucas and Genevieve Lucas placed 2nd to qualify for state.


In extemporaneous speaking, Emmeline Lucas and Shane Owen, both of Maxwell, qualified for state, taking 2nd and 3rd place, respectively.


In informative, Hannah Evans of Maxwell placed 2nd to qualify for state.


In humorous prose, Genevieve Lucas of Maxwell placed 2nd and qualified for state.


In poetry, Emma Baldeh of Dundy County Stratton placed 1st and Hannah Evans of Maxwell placed 3rd to qualify for state.


Jada Nelson of Maxwell placed 3rd in serious prose to qualify for state.


In POI (program of oral interpretation), Emma Baldeh of Dundy County Stratton and Genevieve Lucas of Maxwell placed 1st and 2nd to qualify for state.

Cambridge took the District Runner-up title, Southwest placed 3rd, Bertrand placed 5th, Hitchcock County placed 6th, and Wauneta-Palisade placed 8th.


In duet acting, Addie Andersen and Isaac Hernandez of Bertrand placed 2nd to qualify for state.


In entertainment, Kate Salberg of Cambridge placed 1st and Tyson Carlson of Hitchcock County placed 3rd to qualify for state.


In extemporaneous speaking, Colton Gross of Cambridge and Ben Harris of Cambridge placed 1st and 2nd to qualify for state.


In informative, Reid Huxoll of Cambridge placed 2nd to qualify for state.


In OID, Cambridge's Colton Gross, Irmina Cramer, Jenseyn Weiss, and Kate Salberg placed 3rd to qualify for state.


In humourous prose, Abigail Sedlacek of Southwest placed 1st, Kyler Schroeder of Bertrand placed 2nd, and Ryker Schroeder of Bertrand placed 3rd to qualify for state.


In poetry, Nena Escobar of Southwest placed 1st, and Irmina Cramer placed 2nd to qualify for state.


Lydia Harris of Southwest placed 3rd in serious prose to qualify for state.


In persuasive, Abigail Sedlacek of Southwest placed 2nd, and EJ Velasco of Cambridge placed 3rd to qualify for state.

Paxton placed 2nd, Sutherland placed 3rd, and Medicine Valley placed 6th in their district, which was hosted by South Platte.


In extemoraneous speaking, Rileigh Reeves of Paxton placed 3rd and qualified for state.


In informative, Lee-Ann Joson of Medicine Valley placed 3rd to qualify for state.


In OID, Sutherland's Bryer Brown, Eliana Dyer, Gracie Pearson, Isaac Sinsel, and Macradee Lantis placed 1st; Paxton's Abigail Fote, James Potts, Marlee Gleason, Natalie Jorgensen, and Victoriah Fox placed 3rd to qualify for state.


In humorous prose, Madilynn Mullen of Paxton placed 2nd, and Natalie Jorgensen of Paxton placed 3rd to qualify for state.


In poetry, Madilynn Mullen of Paxton and Kepler Spurgin of Paxton placed 3rd to qualify for state.


In persuasive, Gracie Pearson of Sutherland placed 1st to qualify for state.

Elwood placed 5th, Maywood placed 6th, and Eustis-Farnam placed 8th in this district, which was hosted by Litchfield.


In duet, Kara Brockman and Lauren Cunningham of Elwood placed 2nd and qualified for state.

In humorous, Emma Peterka of Maywood placed 2nd to qualify for state.

D2-5 District, 3/20

Wallace placed 3rd, and Hayes Center placed 9th in their district, which was hosted by Perkins County.


In OID, Wallace qualified two groups for state. Bradley Hanson, Colt Franklin, Max Hanson, and Tobin Pelster placed 1st; and Adan Juarez, Micah Garrison, and Ryder Cable placed 3rd.


In humorous, Jordyn Glunz of Wallace placed 3rd to qualify for state.


In poetry, Biseyda Vazquez of Wallace placed 1st and Brandy Bryant of Wallace placed 3rd to qualify for state.


In persuasive, Carmi Regier of Wallace placed 3rd to qualify for state.


In POI (program of oral interpretation), Lydia Friesen of Wallace placed 3rd and qualified for state.
