MEDICINE VALLEY HAS A SMALL GROUP OF GIRLS BUT RETURNING SOME EXPERIENCE THIS TRACK SEASON
First-year head coach for the Medicine Valley, Kelli Wiiest, has been an assistant for a while but is taking charge of the girl's team this spring. Wiiest said that she has a small group of only nine girls out which will be hard to compete with on the team standings but she is returning some experienced athletes.
Returning state qualifier, Stella Heapy has experience in the 300 hurdles, high jump, and 400-meter dash. Returning letter winners are Khloe Elsten, Alaina Eberle, Sienna Houghtelling, Kylie Rose, and Remmi Stout.
Wiiest is excited to see what Kylie Rose can do in the sprints as she is back this year after being out with an injury last season as well as Milla Farr in the throws. Other newcomers that have potential are freshmen Jordiya Phillips and Kamree Elsten. Wiiest looks for them to find their groove as the season goes on.
The Raiders will begin their season with the Hi-Line Quad on March 23rd.
RAIDERS SEEK IMPROVEMENT IN YOUNG GROUP
Head coach for Medicine Valley boy's track and field squad, Scott Johnsen, has a young group this spring. If this group is able to improve from week to week, the season will be chalked up to be a success.
Johnsen looks for Austin Roblee to be a top contributor this spring while Kaden Weaver, Brody Senff, and Kael Garrett to be newcomers that also contribute.
Medicine Valley will begin its season at the Hi-Line Quad on March 23rd.
RAIDER GOLFERS LOOK TO GROW AND IMPROVE IN 2023
Medicine Valley will look to a number of fresh faces on the golf course this season. Head Coach of the Raider Jason Maier, who has coached golf for three years at Medicine Valley, said they will have five on the team this year, none of which were on the top five last year.
Joe Brown, a senior, and Tyce Pate, a sophomore, are golfers who they will look to lead the way this year.
They begin the season on March 28th at the Cambridge Invite.
