RPAC Baseball Results as of 5/5



Maxwell/St. Pat's competed in the C-1 District hosted by Malcolm last week and competed well. They were able to snag a win in the first round but fell in the second matchup to end their season. Let's take a look at how Maxwell/St. Pat's fared in the postseason.




#4 seeded Maxwell/St. Pat's played #5 seeded Tekamah-Herman in the first round of the C-1 District Tournament. Maxwell/St. Pat's was able to secure the win in the first round, but it took some work, taking the matchup 15-9.


In the top of the first inning, Tekamah-Herman scored three runs to go up 3-0. Maxwell/St. Pat's countered with a pair of runs to make it 3-2 going to the second. In the second inning, Tekamah-Herman scored another pair of runs and Maxwell/St. Pat's scored a run and heading to the third it was 5-3.




In the bottom of the third, Maxwell/St. Pat's scored two more runs and it was 5-5 going to the fourth. In the top of the fourth, Tekamah-Herman scored a run and went up 6-5. In the home half of the fourth, Maxwell/St. Pat's scored 10 runs to go up 15-6 going to the fifth inning.


In the next two innings, the Tigers of Tekamah-Herman scored three more runs, but couldn't complete the comeback.


On the offensive side, Breckyn Collins went 4-5 with an RBI and three runs, Jaxon Braithwait had an RBI, Isaac Irish went 2-3 with 4 RBIs, Cyrrus Messersmith went 2-4 with an RBI, Braxton Williams went 1-1, Xavier Pieper went 1-3 with an RBI, Kole Jones was 3-5 with an RBI, Coy Baker had an RBI, Max Robinson went 3-4 with an RBI, and Austin Miller scored a couple of runs.





As a team, 16 hits, very impressive for Maxwell/St. Pat's.


Isaac Irish went 4.2 innings with eight strikeouts, allowing eight runs. Breckyn Collins went 1.2 innings allowing a pair of hits, no runs, and two strikeouts.


Following this game, Maxwell/St. Pat's played #1 seed Malcolm.



Maxwell/St. Pat's put up a good fight, but eventually fell 12-0. Malcolm put up three runs in the home half of the first, and Maxwell/St. Pat's tightened up on defense. But, in the third and fourth innings, Malcolm scored four runs and then five to make it the 12-run rule.


For Maxwell/St. Pat's, Coy Baker went 1-2 and Cyrrus Messersmith went 1-2.


Maxwell/St. Pat's ends the season at 2-9.
