RPAC Boys Basketball Results as of 1/4

We have made it past the Holiday Break, and the majority of RPAC Boys Basketball Teams are back in action. Let's check out the results from the previous week.
Alma
Alma had the week off last week. They will play Axtell on Monday, January 5th, then Superior on Tuesday, the 6th, and Norton on Friday, the 9th. The Cardinals are 7-1 this season.
Arapahoe
Arapahoe hosted the Bob Braithwait Holiday Tournament last Monday and Tuesday, the 29th and 30th. They dropped two games. First, the Warriors fell to Blue Hill, 59-20. Offense was hard to come by for the Warriors. For the Warriors, Hayden Sich had seven points and added 14 rebounds.
Arapahoe then faced Franklin in the 3rd and 4th place game. Arapahoe trailed 30-25 heading to the final period. The Warriors, though, were outscored 15-10 in the fourth quarter. Hayden Sich had 16 points in the game. Aidan Roush had a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Arapahoe is 0-9. This week, they will host Maxwell on Tuesday, January 6th, host Medicine Valley on Friday, the 9th, and travel to Southern Valley on Saturday, the 10th.
Bertrand
Bertrand played in the Elm Creek Holiday Tournament last week and also against Wauneta-Palisade on Friday.
So on Monday and Tuesday, Bertrand was at the Elm Creek Holiday Tournament. First, the Vikings faced Arcadia/Loup City and won 62-51. Scottie Bieker had a big-time game: 27 points, 22 rebounds, on 10-19 shooting. Thunder Nelson had 20 points for Bertrand.
Bertrand then faced Elm Creek in the championship game. The Vikings fell in the game, 84-55. Quin Oberg of Elm Creek had a big game with 31 points. For Bertrand, three players were in double-figures with Scottie Bieker, at 15 points and 13 rebounds, Hunter Nelson at 10 points, and Thunder Nelson on 19 points.
In their final game of the week, Bertrand beat Wauneta-Palisade 69-27. Bieker again had a big game with 32 points and 10 rebounds to lead the way. The Vikings shot 46% from the field.
Bertrand is now 7-3 and will face Wilcox-Hildreth on Tuesday, the 6th of January, then Southern Valley on Thursday, and South Loup on Saturday.

Cambridge
The Trojans had a full week last week, as they played in a Holiday Tournament and then Maywood-Hayes Center at home on Friday, and then went to Paxton on Saturday
. On Monday and Tuesday, they were in Loomis for their Holiday Tournament. First, they fell to Loomis, 70-61. Cambridge led at halftime, 33-28, but a strong second half from Loomis allowed the Wolves to win. For Cambridge, Brady Ahlemeyer had 22 points, and Hodge Raburn had 18. Raburn added 14 rebounds.
In the 3rd and 4th place game, the Trojans faced Centura and bounced back in a big way, winning 65-44. Cambridge had a nice scoring output as three Trojans were in double-figures, as Ahlemeyer had 25 points, Raburn added 14, and Maverick Webb had 14. Raburn totaled 10 rebounds, too.
Then on Friday, Cambridge hosted Maywood-Hayes Center and lost a close one, 56-49. It was 29-29 at the half, but a strong 13-4 third period from MHC was key. For Cambridge, Raburn had 14, Ahlemeyer scored 11, and Webb had 10. Braxton Mitchell added eight.
Cambridge then went to Paxton on Saturday and won a close game, 64-58 in Overtime. This was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup, so you can read the game story here.
Cambridge is now 4-5 and will face Southwest on the road on Friday, January 9th.
Dundy County Stratton
The Tigers competed in the Axtell Holiday Tournament last week and split the games. In the opening round, the Tigers defeated Axtell 75-15. August Shaw led all scorers with 22 points and was efficient, shooting 9-11 from the field. As a team, the Tigers were effective in shooting the ball as they were 56% from the field.
Dundy County then played Chambers/Wheeler Central and lost by a narrow margin, 54-53. DCS led heading into the final period, 44-39, but a 15-9 final quarter from CWC allowed them to get the win over the Tigers. Shaw led the scoring again, this time with 17 points. Breck Horner had 14 points and nine rebounds in the game.
DCS is now 7-1 and will face Chase County on January 6th, Decatur Community on Thursday the 8th, both of those games are at home, and then on Saturday the 10th, they go to Sandhills Valley.
Hitchcock County
Hitchcock County played in the Brady Holiday Tournament and came away with 2nd place. First, they beat Brady by a final score of 57-40. Jayce Hauxwell of Hitchcock County had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, Adam Kisker had 21 points, and Jack Baker totaled 10 points.
In the championship game, the Falcons faced Anselmo-Merna and lost, 59-52. Hauxwell had 21 points, Kisker added 11, and Baker had seven points and 10 rebounds. Grady Erickson had seven points too.
The Falcons are 4-4 on the season, and this week they go to Southwest on Tuesday and then face Wauneta-Palisade at home on Friday.

Hi-Line
The Bulls had one game last week, and it was against Lawerence-Nelson. The Bulls dropped the game by a final score of 54-41. The Bulls will look to bounce back this week and have a tough couple of games.
On Tuesday, they host Maywood-Hayes Center, then on Thursday, they host SEM.

Maywood-Hayes Center
Maywood-Hayes Center played one game last week, on Friday, against Cambridge on the road. They took down the Trojans by a final 56-49. It was 29-29 at the half, but a strong 13-4 third period from MHC was key. Kade Broz led the scoring with 16 points, Sawyer Dibbern had 13, and Keenan Richards totaled 10.
The Wolves are 8-2 and will face Hi-Line on Tuesday this week, and then Paxton on Friday.
Maxwell
Maxwell had the week off. This week, they have three games as they will be at Arapahoe on Tuesday, at Hershey on Friday, and host Overton on Saturday. They are 2-6 entering the week.
Medicine Valley
The Raiders had some time off during the Holiday Break. They will have two games this week as they will play Wallace at home on Tuesday and then go to Arapahoe on Friday. They are 5-3 entering the week.
Paxton
Paxton had one game last week, and it was against Cambridge. They dropped the game in overtime, 64-58. This was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup, so you can read the game story here.
Paxton is 5-4 and will face Leyton at home on Thursday and go to Maywood-Hayes Center on Friday this week.

Southern Valley
The Eagles competed in the Bob Braithwait Holiday Tournament in Arapahoe last week, and played Southwest on Saturday. They went 1-2 during the week. They played Franklin in the tournament's first round. Southern Valley won, 62-36. Three Eagles were in double figures as Houston Hunt had 12 points, Hunter Lans had 16, and Isaac Hamilton totaled 24. Hunt added 11 rebounds and six assists, too.
Southern Valley then faced Blue Hill in the Championship game and lost, 45-43. Lans and Hamilton each had 11 points. As a team, knocking down shots took effort as the Eagles were 30% from the field.
Southern Valley then went to Southwest on Saturday and dropped the matchup, 63-51. Hunt had 15 points, Hamilton had 13, and Tate Weatherwax scored 13, too. The Eagles took care of the ball pretty well with 11 turnovers.
Southern Valley is 3-8 and will face Bertrand on Thursday, January 8th, and then host Arapahoe on Saturday.
Southwest
The Roughriders had two games last week, and they won both. Entering this week, their winning streak stands at three games. They Beat Franklin on Friday, 54-40. Houston Billeter led Southwest in scoring with 24 points and Deric Kelley had 14. Billeter had a nice game, rebounding with 14 rebounds, and also passing and on defense with six assists and six steals.
Southwest then faced Southern Valley and won 63-51. Billeter scored 28 points, snared 19 rebounds, and six assists. Kelley had 17 points and 11 rebounds in the effort, too.
Southwest is now 4-5 and will face Hitchcock County on Tuesday at home and then at home on Friday against Cambridge.
Sutherland
Sutherland had one game during the Holiday Break on January 2nd. They played Potter-Dix. The Sailors fell in the game, 74-59. Mason Mortimer scored 24 in the game to pace the Sailors; Jackson Saner added 15 points and seven rebounds. Sutherland shot 28% from the field; they got a number of shots up, but struggled to find the bottom of the net.
Sutherland is now 3-4, a team that has improved a lot since last year, and will be at Hyannis on Tuesday, at Creek Valley on Thursday, and home against Sandhills/Thedford on Friday.

Wallace
The Wildcats competed in the Loomis Holiday Tournament and went 1-1. First, they beat Centura on Monday, 58-46. Colt Franklin and Max Hanson and Colt Franklin each had 21 points. Hanson did a lot of his work at the free throw line, where he was 14-19. Franklin grabbed 14 rebounds.
Wallace then faced Loomis in the title game. Loomis won the game, 58-33. Franklin led Wallace with 13 points, seven boards, and six steals.
The Wildcats are 6-2 and will face Medicine Valley on Tuesday on the road, and then host Arthur County on Friday.
Wauneta-Palisade
The Broncos had three games and dropped all of them last week. First, they were at the Wilcox-Hildreth Tournament. They played Kenesaw and lost 68-29. Nathan Hiett had 10 points for the Broncos. Then the Broncos played Giltner/Harvard and dropped the game, 43-36. Wyatt Hilbert led the team in scoring with nine points. He also had 14 rebounds. The Broncos faced Bertrand on Friday and lost, 69-27. Hiett had nine points for Wauneta-Palisade.
The Broncos are 1-8 and will face Cheylin, KS, on Tuesday at home, go to Hitchcock County on Friday, and host Southwest on Saturday.
