RPAC Boys Basketball Results as of 2/23

The regular season has wrapped up and it's time for postseason play this week. In this edition of the blog, you'll see how teams fared before subdistrict play. Also, we will provide links throughout the story with information about subdistricts.
Alma
Alma played against Arapahoe on Friday and came away with a 63-37 win. The Cardinals improve their record to 21-2 now and begin subdistrict play with the top seed in their sub. The Cardinals will host the C2-9 sub and will await the winner of the game between #4 seed Twin River and #5 seed Superior at 6:00 PM CT. Here's the full subdistrict bracket.
Arapahoe
Arapahoe had one game this past week and it was against Alma. The Warriors fell in the game, 63-37. Arapahoe was led by Will Cacy with eight points and four rebounds. Trenton Roskop, who has been injured all season, had a special senior night as he got to get in and score a bucket.
Arapahoe is now 2-21 and will play in the D1-12 subdistrict as the #5 seed. They will play #4 Cambridge, in Cambridge, on Monday Night at 7:00 PM CT. Check out the full subdistrict bracket here.
Bertrand
Bertrand rounded out their regular season with a matchup against the Cambridge Trojans. This is usually a pretty tight matchup when they play one another. Bertrand found a way to win as they beat Cambridge 67-57. It was 10-10 after the first quarter, but Bertrand just slowly began to separate themselves from Cambridge.
Thunder Nelson had 21 points and six rebounds. Marcus Hernandez had 24 points and seven rebounds.
Bertrand is 19-5 and will play on Tuesday as the #2 seed in the D1-10 subdistrict hosted by Elm Creek. They will play rival #3-seed Loomis at 7:15 PM CT. To view the full bracket, click here.
Cambridge
Cambridge had one game and it was against Bertrand on Friday. Cambridge lost the close game, 67-57. It was 10-10 after the first quarter, but Bertrand just slowly began to separate themselves from Cambridge. Cambridge was led by Krayton Ruggles with 27 points and six rebounds. Braydon Miller had 11 points.
Cambridge is now 10-11 and will battle as the #4 seed D1-12 subdistrict. They will play #5 seed Arapahoe on Monday in Cambridge at 7:00 PM CT. Check out the full subdistrict bracket here.
Dundy County Stratton
The top-10-rated Dundy County Stratton had one game last week and it was against Medicine Valley. The Tigers won this competitive battle, 68-56. The third quarter was a big factor as the Tigers outscored Medicine Valley 15-5. August Shaw had 22 points, Lane Bybee scored 16 and 13 rebounds, and Ethan Latta had 14.
DCS is 16-5 and will play as the #1 seed in the D1-12 subdistrict. They will play on Tuesday against either #4 seed Cambridge or #5 seed Arapahoe in Benkelman. That game will be at 5:00 PM MT. Check out the full subdistrict bracket here.
Hi-Line
The Bulls faced an excellent, top-10-rated Elm Creek team on Friday for their final game of the regular season. Hi-Line fell in the game by a final of 62-43. Judah Niemeier had 15 points, and Zach Whittaker had 12.
Hi-Line is now 8-12 and will play in the C2-7 subdistrict tournament. They will take on #5 seed Heartland on Monday at GICC. Tip-off is at 6:00 PM CT To view the whole bracket, click here.
Hitchcock County
The Falcons game with Chase County was canceled. So, the Falcons are 15-5 and are the #2 seed in the D1-12 subdistrict. They will play #3 seed Maywood-Hayes Center on Tuesday in Benkelman. This is the third time these teams have played and each squad has taken a game. The game begins at 6:30 PM MT. Check out the full subdistrict bracket here.
Maxwell
The Wildcats played Loomis this past week and fell 70-34. Maxwell is 5-17 and will play in the D2-8 subdistrict. They are the #3 seed and will play #2 seed Southwest on Tuesday at Medicine Valley. The game will begin at 7:00 PM CT. To view the full bracket, click here.
Maywood-Hayes Center
Maywood-Hayes Center played against Perkins County this week to round out the regular season. The Wolves fell 74-53. MHC is 15-9 and will play as the #3 seed against #2 seed Hitchcock County at DCS. This is the third time these teams have played and each squad has taken a game. The game begins at 6:30 PM MT. Check out the full subdistrict bracket here.
Medicine Valley
The Raiders had one matchup last week, and it was against top-10-rated Dundy County Stratton. Medicine Valley fought hard but fell 68-56. The third quarter was a big factor as the Tigers outscored Medicine Valley 15-5. The Raiders were led by 15 points from Brody Senff and 11 from Lucas Einspahr, Mason Roblee, and Tyce Pate. Senff had eight boards too.
The Raiders are 12-10 and are the #1 seed in the D2-8 subdistrict. So, they will host, and play #4 seed Brady on Tuesday. The game will begin at 5:30 PM CT. To view the full bracket, click here.
Paxton
The Tigers of Paxton played a highly regarded North Platte St. Pat's squad. The Tigers lost 60-45. Tanner Hebblethwaite had 14 points and Jasper Brewster had 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Paxton is now 14-8 and will play in the D1-11 subdistrict. The Tigers are the #2 seed and will play #3 seed Sandhills Valley at St. Pat's at 7:30 PM CT. Check out the full bracket here.
Southern Valley
The Eagles of Southern Valley played Axtell in their regular-season finale and dropped a nail-biter, 44-40. Tylor Grover had 14 points and nine rebounds, Trenton Shockman had 10 points, and Isaac Hamilton had 10 too. Southern Valley is now 4-19. The Eagles are in the D1-10 subdistrict. They will play at Elm Creek. The Eagles are the #5 seed and will play #4 seed Overton on Monday. That game will begin at 7:00 PM CT.

Southwest
The Roughriders played Wallace on Monday and won a close one, 68-64. Houston Billeter had 33 points and Deric Kelley had 24 points and 12 rebounds. Sutherland
Sutherland played South Platte on Friday as their Monday game versus Creek Valley was canceled due to weather. Sutherland fell to South Platte 63-30. The Sailors are now 2-17 and will play at St. Pat's in the D1-11 subdistrict. They are the #4 seed and will play #1 St. Patrick's on Tuesday at 6:00 PM CT.
Wallace
Wallace played Southwest on Monday and fell in the game, 68-64. They also played Creek Valley on Friday. At the time of this blog post, no score was reported. So, their record is 13-9 based on the scores that are reported.
Wallace will host the D2-10 subdistrict and will play either #4 Creek Valley or #5 Wauneta-Palisade at 6:00 PM CT on Tuesday. Click here to see the whole bracket.
Wauneta-Palisade
The Broncos closed out their regular season with a win over Arthur County, 57-47. Ashton Wheeler had 27 points and Aden Acton had 14 points and 15 rebounds.
