RPAC Football Results as of 8/31

Football is back. It's beautiful, isn't it? We had 14 of the 16 RPAC Teams in action to begin the season. Let's take a look at the Football Scoreboard brought to you by MNB Realty, and then we'll dive into the results.

Alma


Alma started the season on the road against a solid Ravenna team. The Cardinals dropped the game 64-26. Alma was down by just 10 at the half, 28-18. In the second half, though, Ravenna took over and outscored Alma 36-8 to secure the win. Alma is 0-1 and will host Pleasanton on Friday.


Arapahoe


Arapahoe started the season with a rivalry matchup against Cambridge. They fell in the game 68-16. It was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup. You can read the full game story here.


Arapahoe is 0-1 and will travel to Bertrand next Friday.


Bertrand


Bertrand got their season started with a nice win on Friday. They battled Kenesaw and won 30-26. It was 12-12 at halftime, but Bertrand outscoring the Blue Devils 12-8 in the third quarter was pivotal as it gave them an edge, and they were able to snag the victory.


Bertrand is 1-0 and will host Arapahoe on Friday.






Cambridge


Cambridge went 15 miles east to play rival Arapahoe on Friday. They won big, 68-16.  It was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup. You can read the full game story here.


Cambridge will go to Franklin on Thursday.



Dundy County Stratton


The Tigers went to Perkins County on Thursday and started the year with a big win, 46-16. DCS put up 40 points in the first half to ensure the victory.


Perkins County didn't score until the fourth quarter. It was a dominant performance. Dante Horner was 5-6 passing with 88 yards and three scores. Ethan Latta had 200 yards rushing on 14 carries and three touchdowns. Tagen Yrkoski added 63 yards and a touchdown. Latta had 59 yards receiving and two scores, and August Shaw had 24 yards and a touchdown.


On defense, Breck Horner had six tackles, 3.5 for loss, Brock Bailey had seven tackles, two for loss, Noah Zoltenko had five tackles, and Jack Johnson had five tackles. Both Ethan Latta and Blaine Adlridge had an interception.


DCS is 1-0 and will host Bridgeport on Friday. Both teams are considered top-10 teams in D1.


Hi-Line


Hi-Line hosted Arcadia-Loup City on Friday to start the 2025 campaign. The Bull dropped the game, 30-14. At halftime, Hi-Line was down by a narrow margin 8-6. In the second half, though, Arcadia-Loup City pushed their lead to 14-6 heading to the fourth, and then they scored 16 to Hi-Line's eight.


Brody Diefenbaugh was 8-16 passing with 108 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. Difenbaugh had 48 yards rushing on 12 carries with a touchdown, too. Chase Beitler led the receiving with two catches for 34 yards. Grady Schutz had five tackles, all for loss, and three sacks. Beitler had 11 tackles, and then Traevyn Koch and Parker Schutz each had 14 tackles. Jaxson Hood had eight.


Hi-Line is 0-1 and will be at South Loup on Friday.


Hitchcock County


A top-10 team in D2, Hitchcock County, got the season started strongly. They played at Brady and won big, 54-6. Hitchcock County Left no doubt, scoring all 54 in the first half, and of course, their defense was strong, allowing just six points.


Hitchcock County is 1-0 and will play at Maxwell on Friday, which is an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup.






Maywood-Hayes Center


The Wolves went to Wilcox, to battle Wilcox-Hildreth to start the season. The Wolves fell, 60-12. MHC found themselves down 30-6 at halftime. The Falcons pressed forward in the second half, outscoring MHC 30-6 again.


MHC is 0-1 and will host Mullen on Thursday in Maywood.


Maxwell


Maxwell faced Sutherland on Friday and got the win, 44-28. This game took some time as storms were passing through the Sutherland area. Maxwell, though, found success to get the win. Jesse Reyes was 4-4 passing with 32 yards, had 185 yards rushing, and five touchdowns. Jahven Reyes had 39 yards rushing and Jagger Kleewein had 61 yards and one touchdown.


Maxwell is 1-0 and will host Hitchcock County on Friday, which is an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup.


Medicine Valley


The Raiders Varsity squad had a bye, they will be at Arthur County on Friday.


Paxton


The Tigers of Paxton faced a top-10 team in D6, Hays Springs, at home. Hay Springs won the matchup, 46-21. Paxton is 0-1 and will be at South Plattte this Thursday.





Southwest


Southwest had a bye, and they will play at home against Harvard on Friday.


Southern Valley


The Eagles hosted Franklin for Homecoming and dropped the season opener, 60-34. For Southern Valley, Prestin Horwart was 4-8 passing with 63 yards and a touchdown. Hunter Lans had 100 yards rushing on 13 carries and a touchdown, and Prestin Horwart had 36 yards and a touchdown. Lans had 51 yards receiving and a touchdown, too.


On defense, Horward had 16 tackles and Hayden Lans had 12.


Southern Valley is 0-1 and will play at home versus Sutton on Friday.





Sutherland


Sutherland hosted Maxwell and dropped the game 44-28. Like we said earlier in the blog, this game took some time as storms were passing through the Sutherland area.


The Sailors are 0-1 and will face North Platte St. Pat's on Friday on the road.


Wallace


Wallace is regarded by many as a really solid top-10 team in D6. They hosted another tough team in D6, Arthur County. Wallce won the game, a close one, 44-36. Colt Franklin was 4-4 passing with 89 yards and two touchdowns. What a rushing attack, 379 yards as a team. Tyson Sullivan had 102 yards, Brayden Gardner had 69 yards and a score, Ashtn Johns had 189 yards and three scores, and Ivan Aceves had 19 yards and a score. Gardner had 68 yards receiving and two scores.


Gardner had 13 tackles, Franklin had nine, Sullivan had nine, Micah Garrison added eight, and Johns had seven. Sullivan had an interception, too.


Wallace is 1-0 and will. beat Creek Valley on Thursday.






Wauneta-Palisade


The Broncos started the season strong with a 44-28 win over South Platte. The key in this one was the rushing attack from Wauneta-Palisade as they had 297 yards as a team, and 237 of them came from Kreyton Wiese, who had six touchdowns. Ayden Baker had 47 yards receiving. Wyatt Hilbert had 29 yards passing, and Wiese had 35.


David Bryner had 11 tackles, Wiese had nine, Baker had eight, Casey Walker and Daven Miner each had seven. Kameran McCrumb and Noah Sandman each had a sack. Wiese had an interception, too


Casey Walker was 4-4 on PAT's.


The Broncos are 1-0 and will play Fleming, CO, at home on Friday.
