RPAC GIRL'S BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT RESULTS- ROUND THREE

The teams in the West Division traveled to Paxton Thursday night.


First up in the consolation bracket, #5 Wallace and #6 Dundy County Stratton and it was a close match-up. Wallace started with the lead but the Tigers forced a shift in the momentum and overtook the Wildcats, 36-32. Karlie Finely led the Wildcats with 11 points and 11 rebounds.



The next consolation game featured, #2 Paxton and #5 Hitchcock County. Paxton jumped out to the early lead and held off a Falcon run in the final quarter to win, 42-29. Ella Fote led the way for the Tigers with 12 points.


In the semi-final game, #1 Maywood-Hayes Center battled #3 Wauneta-Palisade. It was a great match-up but the Wolves were able to snatch the victory, 69-52. Wauneta-Palisade will face #4 Southwest in the consolation game at 2:30 P.M. in McCook at the MCC Graff Event Center. Maywood-Hayes Center will advance to take on #2 Southern Valley at 6:00 P.M. in McCook at the MCC Graff Event Center. Olivia Hansen led the way for the Wolves with 23 points, Ashlin Broz added 22 points, and Karissa Stengel contributed 10 points.



On the East Division, Bertrand played host.


In the first game of the consolation bracket, was #5 Arapahoe and #6 Medicine Valley. It was Arapahoe who took the early lead but the Raiders fought back to make things interesting they didn't have enough left in the tank to hold off the Warrior run in the final quarter. Arapahoe won, 45-40. Berkley Warner led the way for the Warriors with 15 points. Milla Farr posted 14 points and 16 rebounds and Stella Heapy added 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Raiders.



The second consolation match of the evening was #1 Alma and #3 Cambridge. Cambridge had a slight lead after one quarter but then Alma turned it on to create some separation. Cambridge made big halftime adjustments to outscore the Cardinals 20-14 in the third quarter. That wasn't enough to hold off Alma though as they defeated the Trojans, 54-49. For the Trojans, Breelle Miller led the way with 17 points.


The semi-final game featured #2 Southern Valley and #4 Southwest. It was back and forth but ultimately the Eagles defeated the Roughriders, 55-47. Southwest will play #3 Wauneta-Palisade in the consolation game at 2:30 P.M. in McCook at the MCC Graff Event Center. Southern Valley advances to the championship where they will take on #1 Maywood-Hayes Center at 6:00 P.M. in McCook at the MCC Graff Event Center. Bailey Truksa lead the way for the Roughriders with 20 points. For the Eagles, Brecklyn Hammond posted 15 points, Adi Hunt added 12 points, and Ann Bose and Brynn Baily each posted 11 points.
