RPAC track and field athletes competed at the NSAA State Track and Field meet which was held at Omaha Burke Stadium on Friday, May 19th and Saturday, May 20th. You can catch Friday's blog and podcast here and Saturday's blog and podcast here.
In the Class D 100-meter dash, JoLie Farr of Cambridge finished 11th with a time of 12.97 and Kiley Hejtmanek of MHC finished 12th with a time of 13.00 and both missed finals.
In Class D 100-meter hurdles, Kendyl Flaming qualified for finals with a prelim time of 16.04. Anastasia Gallegos of Southwest didn't qualifiy for finals but finished 12th with a time of 16.53. In finals, Flaming placed 6th with a time of 16.24.
In the Class C 200-meter dash, Adi Hunt of Southern Valley just missed finals as she ended up 9th with prelim time of 26.58.
In the Class D 200-meter dash, Clara Spargo of DCS qualified for finals with a prelim time of 26.31 and Hejtmanek of MHC also qualified for finals with a prelim time of 26.84. Others who also competed in the prelims were Farr of Cambridge who finished in 15th with a time of 27.42 and Kylie Rose of Medicine Valley finished in 17th with a time of 27.48.
In the Class D 300-meter hurdles, Flaming of Wallace finished 11th with a time of 49.04 in prelims and Stella Heapy of Medicine Valley who finished 21st with a time of 50.96 in prelims; both missed finals.
In the Class D 400-meter dash, Hejtmanek of MHC qualified for finals with the fastest prelim time of 60.23. Other atheltes who competed but missed finals were Rachel Harris of Cambridge who finished in 11th and ran a prelim time of 63.09 and Blayklee Farr of MHC who finished 21st and ran a prelim time of 64.94. In finals, Hejtmanek was crowned the state runner-up with time of 60.11 which is also a new MHC COOP record.
In the Class D 800-meter run, Reagan Stengel of MHC was named the state champion as she finished with a time of 2:24.64 which set a new MHC COOP record. Harris of Cambridge also set a new school record time of 2:26.67 and was able to bring home the 5th place medal. Brenna Deterding of Cambridge finished in 16th with a time of 2:30.78 and Jacelyn Jorgensen of Paxton finished in 23rd with a time of 2:38.73.
In the Class D 1600-meter run, Ashlin Broz of MHC set a new COOP record with a 6th place finish and a time of 5:36.35. Kaley Sauser of Wallace finished in 12th with a time of 5:54.44, Jorgensen of Paxton finished 15th with a time of 5:56.33, and Breelle Miller of Cambridge finished 16th with a time of 6:02.60.
In the Class D 3200-meter run, Ashley Robertson of Wallace finished in 9th place with a time of 12:57.50 and teammate Dajana Garrison finished in 11th with a time of 13:10.85.
In the Class D 4x100-meter realy, DCS placed 5th with a time of 51.69 and was ran by Emma Baldeh, Kayana Riley, Alyssa Schneider, and Clara Spargo; Cambridge finished in 12th with a time of 52.64 and was ran by Jordyn Cross, Jalen Kent, Miller, and Farr; and Southwest finished 15th with a time of 53.45 and was ran by Caylin Barnett, Allison Van Pelt, Payton Truksa, and Gallegos.
In the Class D 4x400-meter realy, MHC was crowned the state runner-up with a time of 4:05.81 and a new COOP record. That relay was ran by Farr, Broz, R. Stengel, and Hejtmanek; and Wallace placed 8th with a time of 4:20.87 and was ran by Mariana Acevez-Lopez, Garrison, Ryleigh Hanson, and Flaming.
In the Class D 4x800-meter relay, MHC placed 4th with a time of 10:18.31 and was ran by Broz, Karissa Stengel, Ava Hardin, and R. Stengel; Cambridge placed 6th with a time of 10:27.30 and was ran by Harris, Miller, Jalen Kent, and Deterding; Wallace finished 10th with a time of 10:41.92 and was ran by Sauser, Robertson, Reagan Pelster, and Hanson; and Paxton finished 13th with a time of 10:49.11 and was ran by Marlee Gleason, Ainsley McConnell, Jaleigh Hanson, and Jorgensen.
In the Class D discus, GraCee Goings of Wauneta-Palisade placed 4th with a toss of 124'6". Jorgensen of Paxton finished 15th with a toss of 109'3" and teammate Audrey Holm finished 16th with a toss of 108'1".
In Class C high jump, Ann Bose of Southern Valley finished in a 3-way tie for 5th with a jump of 5'2".
In Class D high jump, Heapy of Medicine Valley placed 4th with a jump of 4'10". Jensyn Weiss of Cambridge also jumped but was unable to clear opening height.
In Class D long jump, Jalen Kent of Cambridge finished 16th with a jump of 15'5" and Farr of MHC finished 20th with a jump of 14'8".
In Class C pole vault, Hunt of Southern Valley finished in a 3-way tie for 14th with a vault of 8'6".
In Class D pole vault, Shelby Schoene of Bertrand finished 9th with a vault of 8'6" and teammate Aislin Kidder was unable to clear opening height.
In Class D shot put, Peyton Cox of Wauneta-Palisade placed 4th with a throw of 39'4.25", Milla Farr of Medicine Valley finished 9th with a throw of 36'5.25", and Holm of Paxton finished 10th with a throw of 36'3".
In Class D triple jump, Jacey Kent of Cambridge finished 13th with a jump of 32'11.75" and Sabrina Jacobsen of Arapahoe finished 21st with a jump of 32'1.25".
