RPAC Softball Results as of 8/27


This past week for the Southern Valley/Alma Saints was busy with games but also ended up with some cancellations due to the weather. On Monday last week, the Saints were in McCook for a pair of games against the Bison and Chase County.

In their first game, they played McCook and fell 12-1. Southern Valley/Alma scored in the top of the first inning and led 1-0 going into the home half, but McCook was able to put up seven runs. In the second inning, McCook put up another run, and then in the third, they scored seven more to put the run rule in effect. Brynn Bailey went 1-1 for the Saints with an RBI. Izzy Dubbs went 1-2 for Southern Valley/Alma too.

Southern Valley/Alma bounced back nicely against Chase County, winning 13-0 in two innings. Mikah Schultz was in the circle for two innings and allowed one hit and had four strikeouts. Brynn Bailey also spent some time pitching, one inning, and had two strikeouts.

On the offensive side, Maci Adams was 0-2 but had a pair of RBIs. In total, the Saints were walked 11 times in their three innings of offense which led to those 13 runs.

On Friday, the Saints hosted their triangular with Alliance and Gothenburg. In the first game, Southern Valley/Alma played Alliance and lost 12-2. Bailey went 2-3 at the plate with a single and a triple. Adams went 1-1 with an RBI and Sarah Holste went 1-2 with an RBI.

The Saints were set to take on Gothenburg but due to the weather, it was canceled.


On Saturday, Southern Valley/Alma was going to play in the Holdrege Tournament, but that was canceled too.
