Wow. I think the track season went about as fast as some times we have seen this season. The regular season track meets are over, and teams are making their final preparations for districts this week. Check out the regular season finale results and more information on districts!
Best of the Midwest (Sutherland), Girls Results - 5/6
No team scores are kept -- Alma, Arapahoe, Cambridge, Maxwell, Maywood-Hayes Center, Medicine Valley, Paxton, Southwest, Sutherland, Wallace, and Wauneta-Palisade were all in attendance. This meet is a qualification meet and only the top three medalists will be awarded.
In the 100-meter dash, JoLie Farr of Cambridge placed 1st with a time of 12.65, Ava Messersmith of MHC placed 4th with a time of 13.19, and Alyssa Koch of Southwest placed 8th with a time of 13.51.

In long jump, Zoltenko of DCS placed 3rd with a jump of 20'4.5", A. Shaw of DCS placed 4th with a jump of 19'9.5", Kameran McCrumb of Wauneta-Palisade placed 6th with a jump of 17'4.25", and Lopez of MHC palced 7th with a jump of 16'3".
In triple jump, Steven Werkmeister of MHC placed 4th with a jump of 37'0", and Bybee of DCS placed 5th with a jump of 26'7.75".
District Track Information
To qualify for state in the individual running events, you must place 1st or 2nd. Regardless of place, the next SIX fastest times will earn an additional qualifying spot. In the relays, the 1st place team will automatically qualify, and then the next SEVEN fastest times will earn an additional qualifying spot, regardless of place.
In long jump, triple jump, shot put, and discus, 1st and 2nd place will automatically qualify for state, and then the SIX best marks, regardless of place, will earn additional qualifying spots.
For pole vault and high jump, the 1st and 2nd place winners will automatically qualify for state, and any athlete who hits the automatic qualifying mark will also qualify. See the automatic qualifying heights below.
