As the RPAC preps for the Conference tournament that begins this Thursday, October 13th and October 17th-18th, here is a recap of last weeks action.
Alma
Alma had the home court advantage for a majority of the week and it started with a battle on Tuesday as Alma hosted Southern Valley but ultimately, the Cardinals emerged victorious winning 3-2. On Thursday, the Cardinals took on SEM and were swept 3-0 with set scores of 25-21, 25-15, and 25-17. On Friday they traveled to Hi-Line and bounced back from the loss and defeated the Bulls 3-0. Alma is now 18-8 and the #3 seed in the East heading into the RPAC Tournament.
Arapahoe
Arapahoe hosted Axtell on Tuesday and fell 3-2. On Thursday, the Warriors traveled to Almena, KS to take on Northern Valley. It was another 5 set match, but Arapahoe emerged on top of this match 3-2. Arapahoe heads into the RPAC Tournament 10-11 and the #5 seed in the East.
Bertrand
Bertrand traveled to Wilcox-Hildreth for a triangular on Tuesday. The Vikings fell to Ansley-Litchfield 2-0. Katelyn Evans led the Vikings with six kills and seven digs. Bertrand was able to defeat Wilcox-Hildreth 2-0 and it was Evans who led the way again with 10 kills, two aces, and seven digs. On Saturday, they traveled to Anselmo-Merna for a tournament where they took on Mullen, Sandhills Valley, and Riverside. Against Mullen, the Vikings came away with the 2-0 win and were led by Bethany Pelton with five kills and three aces. Against Sandhills Valley, Bertrand won the match 2-0 and were led by Shelby Schoene with seven kills. The Vikings fell to Riverside 2-0 and were led by Brooklyn Evans with six kills and Emma Brown with 10 digs. Bertrand is 8-15 and has earned the #7 seed in the East s they head into the RPAC Tournament.
Cambridge
Cambridge hosted a triangular on Tuesday with South Loup and Maxwell. Against Maxwell, the Trojans came away with the 2-0 victory. Jalen Kent led the way with 11 kills and nine digs. Cambridge defeated South Loup 2-0 and were led by Erin Johnson with nine kills and three blocks. Cambridge participates in Southwest Triangular on Tuesday before heading into the RPAC Tournament with the #1 seed in the East and a record of 22-1.
Dundy County Stratton
Dundy County Stratton traveld to Paxton on Tuesday where they competed in a triangular. The Tigers fell to both Wallace and Paxton 2-0. Dundy County is now 0-23 and heads into the RPAC Tournament as the #7 seed in the West.
Hitchcock County
Hitchcock County traveled to Goodland, KS on Tuesday for match ups with Goodland and Decatur Community. Against Goodland, the Falcons fell 2-0 and were led by Katie Jarecke with three kills. Hitchcock County was also taken down 2-0 by Decatur Community and were led by Asia Homma with five kills and five aces. The Falcons travel to Southwest on Tuesday for a triangular before the RPAC Tournament starts on Thursday where they have earned the #5 seed in the West with a record of 6-18.
Maxwell
Maxwell traveled to Cambridge on Tuesday for a triangular with the Trojans and South Loup. The Wildcats fell to the Trojans 2-0 and were led by Jocelyn Cheek with two kills. Maxwell fell to South Loup 2-0 and Cheek led the way with four kills. On Saturday, the Wildcats traveled to Hershey where they took on the Panthers and North Platte St. Pat's. Maxwell was swept by both Hershey and North Platte St. Pat's 2-0 and Cheek led them with five kills in each match. They travel to Sandhills Valley on Tuesday before the RPAC Tournament on Thursday. Maxwell has a record of 3-22 and have earned the #6 seed in the West.
Maywood-Hayes Center
Maywood-Hayes Center traveled to Brady on Tuesday for a triangular where they faced off with the Eagles and Medicine Valley. Against Brady, the Wolves won 2-0 and were led by Olivia Hansen with nine kills and nine digs. Maywood-Hayes Center defeated Medicine Valley 2-0 and were led by Alexis Wood with nine kills and 11 digs. The Wolves travel to Sutherland on Tuesday before the RPAC Tournament starts on Thursday where they have earned the #1 seed in the West with a record of 19-1.
Medicine Valley
On Tuesday the Raiders participated in the Brady Triangular with Brady and Maywood-Hayes Center. Medicine Valley fell to Brady 2-0 and were led with Remmi Stout with eight kills and Milla Farr with 14 digs. Against Maywood-Hayes Center, they fell 2-0 and were led by Stella Heapy with six kills and Stout with three blocks. On Thursday, Medicine Valley hosted Sandhills Valley and was able to win 3-0 and were led by Heapy with seven kills and seven aces while Stout posted three blocks. Medicine Valley is 12-7 and travel to Wauneta-Palisade on Tuesday before the RPAC tournament starts on Thursday where the Raiders have earned the #4 seed in the East.
Paxton
Paxton hosted a triangular on Tuesday and were able to take down Dundy County Stratton 2-0 and were led by Jocelyn Jorgensen with nine kills and Audrey Holm with six aces and 12 digs. In their 2-0 loss to Wallace, Holm had nine kills and two blocks while Jordan Clouse had 19 digs. On Friday, the Tigers traveled to Wallace to take them on again. Paxton fell 3-0 while Holm posted 19 kills, five blocks, and 20 digs while Clouse had 23 digs. They host Creek Valley on Tuesday before they start the RPAC Tournament on Thursday where they have earned the #3 seed in the West. Paxton is 18-5.
Southern Valley
Southern Valley participated in the Minden Triangular on Monday where they fell to both the Whippets and Hastings St. Cecelia 2-0. On Tuesday, the Eagles hosted South Loup and had a five set battle but came up short as the lost the match 3-2. Southern Valley enters the RPAC Tournament with a record of 10-14 and the #6 seed in the East.
Southwest
Southwest hosted a triangular on Tuesday with Chase County and North Platte St. Pats. Against the Irish, the Roughriders won 2-0 and were led by Caylin Barnett with nine kills and nine digs. They defeated Chase County 2-0 and were led by Barnett with 11 kills and Allison Van Pelt with 16 digs. On Friday, they hosted Brady and won 3-0 with set scores of 25-21, 25-6, 25-4. Southwest hosts a triangular on Tuesday before RPAC Tournament play starts on Thursday. Southwest is 20-4 and has earned the #2 seed in the East.
Wallace
Wallace participated in the Paxton triangular with Paxton and Wallace on Tuesday. Against Paxton, the Wildcats won 2-0 and are led by Kendyl Flaming with 10 kills and eight digs. Against Paxton, Wallace won 2-0 and were led by Flaming's eight kills and two blocks. Wallace then hosted Paxton on Friday and got the 3-0 sweep. They were led by Karlie Finley with 17 kills, three aces, two blocks, and eight digs while Flaming also posted 14 kills and 10 digs. Wallace takes on Garden County on Tuesday before the RPAC Tournament starts on Thursday where they enter the tournament as the #2 seed in the West with a record of 21-3.
Wauneta-Palisade
The Broncos traveled to Garden County on Tuesday for a triangular with Garden County and Perkins County. Against Garden County, they fell 2-0 and were led by GraCee Comings with 10 kills. In the 2-0 loss to Perkins County, Chloe Steno led the way with six kills. On Friday, Wauneta-Palisade traveled to Arthur County and the Broncos were able to come away with the 3-1 win. Cali Cox led the way with 15 kills, three aces, three blocks, and 10 digs. They host Medicine Valley before they start play in the RPAC Tournament on Thursday where they are the #4 seed in the West. The Broncos are 7-14.
