The volleyball season began on Thursday, and it is off and running, full steam ahead. Check out how the RPAC teams did this week in the blog.

Alma
The Cardinals started the season at the Minden Invite on Saturday. In their first match against Minden, Alma pulled off the 2-0 sweep with set scores of 25-17 and 25-16. Epp had nine kills, two aces, and 12 digs; Abbie Pool had four kills; Halee Neubauer had two aces; Taylor Pool had two blocks and six digs; Kenley Haussermann had eight digs and 11 assists; and Kamri Neal had five assists.
In their second match of the day, the Cardinals were swept by Amherst, 2-0, with set scores of 25-13 and 25-15. Epp had five kills and five digs; A. Pool had three kills; Neal had two aces and seven digs; T. Pool had six digs; and Haussermann had four digs and 13 assists.
In the final match against Twin River, Alma had a battle as they dropped set one, 25-13, but responded to take the next two sets, 25-21 and 25-18, to win the match, 2-1. T. Pool had nine kills, three blocks, and three digs; Epp had six kills, three aces, five blocks, and eight digs; A. Pool had four kills and 14 digs; Cayle Molzahn had three blocks and five digs; Neal had 16 digs; Reese Molzahn had nine digs; and Haussermann had six digs and 21 assists.
Alma starts their season with a 2-1 record and will host Gothenburg on Tuesday and host Bertrand and Cambridge for a triangular on Thursday.
Arapahoe
On Thursday, the Warriors hosted Franklin and started the year off with a 3-0 sweep with set scores of 25-18, 25-20, and 25-20. Taytum Roskop had 10 kills and had nine digs; Ruby McCune had five kills and eight digs; Desi Farner had five kills and 10 digs; Clara Hilker had five kills and eight digs; Sawyer Shafer had nine digs and 23 assists; and Suttyn Shafer had 12 digs.
Arapahoe starts the season with a 1-0 record and will host a triangular on Thursday with Dundy County Stratton and Hitchcock County.
Bertrand
Bertrand hosted Southwest on Thursday to begin the year. The Vikings earned the 3-0 sweep with set scores of 25-22, 25-21, and 25-23. Livia Philips had nine kills, two aces, and 15 digs; Jocelyn Hernandez had seven kills and two blocks; Adrian Sand had four kills and 16 digs; Alivia Rabe had four kills and three blocks; Adlea Hock had 26 assists and eight digs; Baylee Kipp had two aces and 24 digs; and Bailey Vinzant had 11 digs.
Bertrand starts the year 1-0 and will host Elm Creek on Tuesday and travel to Alma on Thursday for a triangular with the Cardinals and Cambridge.

Cambridge
The Trojans didn't play last week. They will start their season on Tuesday at the Sutherland triangular with the Sailors and Paxton, and then travel to Alma on Thursday for a triangular with the Cardinals and Bertrand.
Dundy County Stratton
The Tigers attended the Axtell invite on Saturday. DCS defeated Ainsworth, 2-0, with set scores of 25-16 and 25-16. Abi Spargo had 14 kills, three blocks, and seven digs; Emily Schack had six kills and six digs; Ava Lutz had three blocks and 16 digs; Kimberly Escobar had six digs; and Bree Lutz had six digs and 22 assists.
In their next match, the Tigers defeated Lawrence-Nelson 2-0, with set scores of 25-13 and 25-16. Spargo had six kills, two aces, and three digs; Schack had five kills, two aces, and five digs; B. Lutz had three aces and 11 assists; and Escobar had four digs.
In their final match, DCS lost to Red Cloud, 2-0, with set scores of 25-21 and 25-21. Schack had 10 kills and four digs; Spargo had eight kills and 10 digs; and B. Lutz had five digs and 16 assists.
Dundy County Stratton starts the year 2-1 and will travel to Arapahoe on Thursday for a triangular with the Warriors and Hitchcock County.

Hi-Line
Hi-Line hosted Southern Valley on Thursday and had quite the match to start the year, as it was a five-set match. The Bulls took the first set 30-28 and the second set 25-10, but the Eagles responded, taking the next two sets 25-19 and 25-21 and forcing a deciding set. Hi-Line took that fifth set, 15-8, and won the match, 3-2, over Southern Valley. Lauryn Ruda had 20 kills, two aces, two blocks, and nine digs; RiLee Schutz had 18 kills, four aces, and 19 digs; Bristol Kubert had seven kills, three aces, and 17 digs; Piper Puls had five kills and 13 digs; Kylee Kubert had 11 digs; Jurnee Harris had seven digs; and Klaire Pohl had 21 digs and 46 assists.
The Bulls start 1-0 and will travel to Medicine Valley on Tuesday for a triangular with the Raiders and North Platte St. Pats, then host Wilcox-Hildreth and SEM on Thursday for another triangular.
Hitchcock County
The Falcons hosted Wauneta-Palisade to start the season on Thursday. They were swept, 3-0, with set scores of 25-15, 25-21, and 25-16. Katelyn Cook had seven kills; Ensley Lawless had four kills and nine digs; Kalissa Hagan had nine digs and five assists; and Jayda Wood had four digs and eight assists. Hitchcock County attended the Overton tournament on Saturday and had three matches. Against Shelton, Hitchcock County was swept, 2-0, with set scores of 25-19 and 26-24. Cook had four kills, two blocks, and seven digs; Lawless had three kills and eight digs; Rilynn Cook had three kills; Hagan had two aces, nine digs, and three assists; and Wood had two aces, seven digs, and five assists.
Against Maxwell, the Falcons dropped set one 25-21, won the second set 25-15, and lost the third set 25-19 to lose the match, 2-1. Lawless had eight kills and 12 digs; Wood had five kills, 14 digs, and 10 assists; R. Cook had five kills; Ellie Sensenig had four kills; Hagan had 12 digs and 12 assists; K. Cook had nine digs; and Emma Hagan had five digs.
In their match against Anselmo-Merna, Hitchcock County was swept, 2-0, with set scores of 25-11 and 25-13. Lawless had five kills, two aces, and two digs; R. Cook had three kills; K. Hagan had two aces, four digs, and three assists; and Wood had six assists.
Hitchcock County starts the year with a record of 0-4. The Falcons will travel to Arapahoe on Thursday for a triangular where they will face Dundy County Stratton and the Warriors.
Maxwell
Maxwell hosted Medicine Valley on Thursday to start their season. The Wildcats took the first set, 25-18, lost the second set, 26-24, and then won sets three and four, 25-15 and 25-19, to win the match, 3-1. Emory Christensen had 17 kills, two aces, two blocks, eight digs, and 10 assists; Ava Gosnell had nine kills and three digs; Ryan Kuenning had six kills and seven digs; Adelyn Sunstrom had four kills; Aspen Vanhorn had four aces; Madelynn Nelson had 18 digs; Kurri Gosnell had five digs; and Eden Fletcher had five digs and 17 assists.
In the Overton tournament on Saturday, they played three matches. Against Central Valley, the Wildcats were swept, 2-0. Christensen had five kills, three digs, and three assists; Nelson had eight digs; Kuenning had four digs; and Fletcher had six assists.
Against Overton, Maxwell bounced back and got the 2-0 sweep with set scores of 25-19 and 25-18. Christensen had nine kills, seven digs, and four assists; A. Gosnell had six kills; Kuenning had six kills and five digs; Nelson had five digs and three assists; and Fletcher had 10 assists.
Against Hitchcock County, the Wildcats took the first set 25-21, lost the second set 25-15, and took the third set 25-19 to win the match, 2-1. Christensen had 22 kills, 13 digs, and four assists; A. Gosnell had four kills; Nelson had 16 digs and five assists; Rochelle Bradley had six digs; Kuenning had nine digs; and Fletcher had three aces, seven digs, and 13 assists.
Maxwell starts the year at 3-1 and will travel to Paxton on Thursday.

Maywood-Hayes Center
The Wolves started the season hosting a triangular on Thursday with Sandhills Valley and Paxton. Against Paxton, MHC won 2-1, taking the first set 25-19, losing the second 25-23, and winning the third 25-20. Caylie Softley had 20 kills, two aces, and 17 digs; Haylie Gustafson had five kills and four digs; Jillian Johnson had three kills, two aces, and seven digs; Adalyn Schurr had three kills; Maddyn Farr had six digs; Paytyn Stengel had five digs; Chloe Jeffers had 13 digs; Jaylee Sellers had 15 digs and nine assists; and Lanie Soundy had three digs and 17 assists.
Against Sandhills Valley, MHC won, 2-0, with set scores of 25-15 and 25-17. Softley had 10 kills; Stengel had seven kills and six digs; Schurr had three aces; Jeffers had eight digs; Sellers had five digs and seven assists; and Soundy had three digs and 10 assists.
Maywood-Hayes Center is 2-0 and will travel to Atwood-Rawlins County, KS, on Thursday for a triangular with them and Southwest.
Medicine Valley
The Raiders opened the season at Maxwell on Thursday and lost to the Wildcats, 3-1. Maxwell took the first set 25-18, Medicine Valley took the second set 26-24, and then Maxwell took sets three and four, 25-15 and 25-19. No stats were uploaded at the time of writing; we will update them when they are posted.
Medicine Valley is 0-1 and will host Hi-Line and North Platte St. Pat's for a triangular on Tuesday, and travel to Silver Lake on Friday.
Paxton
Paxton traveled to Maywood-Hayes Center on Thursday for a triangular with the Wolves and Sandhills Valley. Against Sandhills Valley, the Tigers won, 2-0, with set scores of 25-17 and 25-16. Cayla Peterson had five kills, two aces, and five digs; Jakcee Mitchell had four kills, two aces, and six digs; Reece Glinn had two aces and four digs; Olivia McBride had two aces and seven digs; Brynn Kuenning had three digs and seven assists; and Hadleigh Kramer had five digs and six assists.
Against MHC, the Wolves won 2-1, as MHC took the first set 25-19, Paxton won the second 25-23, and dropped the third 25-20. McBride had seven kills, two blocks, and 12 digs; Mitchell had six kills, three aces, and 13 digs; Glinn had five kills, three aces, and 12 digs; Peterson had 13 digs; Kramer had five digs and 12 assists; and Kuenning had seven digs and five assists.
Paxton started the year with a record of 1-1 and will travel to Sutherland on Tuesday for a triangular with the Sailors and Cambridge, and will host Maxwell on Thursday.
Southern Valley
Hi-Line hosted Southern Valley on Thursday and had quite the match to start the year, as it was a five-set match. The Bulls took the first set 30-28 and the second set 25-10, but the Eagles responded, taking the next two sets 25-19 and 25-21 and forcing a deciding set. Hi-Line took that fifth set, 15-8, and won the match, 3-2, over Southern Valley. Haisley McQuiston had eight kills and four blocks; Lauren Quinn had seven kills and 21 digs; Lorelie Horwart had seven kills; Sophia Cunningham had seven kills, three aces, and 21 digs; Laney Becker had four digs; Cali Santifer had 23 digs; and Emercen Lovitt had eight digs and 23 assists.
The Eagles start the year 0-1 and will host Cozad on Thursday.

Southwest
Southwest started the season at Bertrand on Thursday, and the Roughriders were swept, 3-0, with set scores of 25-22, 25-21, and 25-23. Mila Nelms had 10 kills and 17 digs; Natalie Neseth had five kills and two blocks; Kali Kurkowski had four kills; Alivia Cure had 16 digs; Lacie Houser had nine digs; Teagan Stritt had six assists; and Aspen Billeter had three aces, two blocks, 13 digs, and 13 assists.
At the Axtell tournament on Saturday, the Roughriders had three matches. Against Ainsworth, Southwest won in three sets. Southwest took the first set 25-20, lost the second set 25-16, and then won the third 25-20 to win the match, 2-1. Nelms had 17 kills and 15 digs; Kurkowski had nine kills; Billeter had four kills, 16 digs, and 25 assists; Cure had 16 digs; Ellyana Walkington had 10 digs; and Houser had eight digs.

Against Red Cloud, the Roughriders were swept, 2-0, with set scoers of 25-23 and 25-21. Nelms had four kills and 10 digs; Houser had three aces and five digs; Kurkowski had two blocks; Walkington had six digs, and Billeter had two blocks, 11 digs, and nine assists.
Southwest started 2-2 on the season and will travel to Atwood-Rawlins County, KS, on Thursday for a triangular with them and Maywood-Hayes Center.

Sutherland
Sutherland started the year at home on Thursday with a triangular with Perkins County and Creek Valley. Against Creek Valley, the Sailors won 2-0, with set scores of 25-16 and 25-12. Kate Dyer had five kills, five aces, and two digs; Rylee Kerner had four kills; Addison Arvdal had three kills; Keeley Dempcy had five aces and five assists; Eliana Dyer had four aces; Macradee Lantis had five digs; and Drew Rotert had five assists.
Against Perkins County, the Sailors were swept, 2-0, with set scores of 25-23 and 25-16. K. Dyer had seven kills; Kerner had four kills; Arvdal had three kills; Lantis had two aces, three assists, and four digs; Dempcy had eight digs, and six assists; E. Dyer had four digs; and Rotert had five digs and three assists.
Sutherland started the year 1-1 and will host a triangular on Tuesday with Cambridge and Paxton.
Wallace
Wallace had one match last week on Friday against South Platte. Wallace took the first two sets, 25-23 and 25-19, lost the second 25-13, and won the fourth 26-24, to win the match, 3-1. Reagan Finley had 15 kills and 18 digs; Maddison Gartrell had four kills and 13 digs; Regan Martin had three kills, three blocks, and four digs; Mollie McConnell had 16 digs and eigtht assists; Briseyda Vazquez had 17 digs; Afton Nelms had 10 digs and 10 assists.
The Wildcats start 1-0 and will travel to Arthur County on Tuesday for a triangular with them and Cody-Kilgore, and will travel to Hay Springs on Thursday.
Wauneta-Palisade
Wauneta-Palisade traveled to Hitchcock County to start the season on Thursday. They earned the 3-0 sweep, with set scores of 25-15, 25-21, and 25-16. Emma Acton had 15 kills, 11 digs, and four assists; Molly Yearous had seven kills and seven digs; Kenzie Bardsley had three aces and seven digs; Attley Wiese had two blocks; Kamryn Fanning had 12 digs and 20 assists; and Kaia Applegarth had three digs. The Broncos hosted Sandhills Valley on Friday and got the 3-0 sweep with set scores of 25-5, 25-10, and 25-8. Acton had 12 kills, seven aces, seven digs, and 12 assists; Fanning had five kills, 11 aces, five digs, and 16 assists; Applegarth had five kills; and Addalyn Einspahr had four aces.
Wauenta-Palisade starts the year 2-0 and will host a triangular on Thursday with Cheylin-Bird City, KS, and Wallace County, KS, and will travel to Brady on Friday.
