RPAC VOLLEYBALL RESULTS AS OF AUG. 29TH




The RPAC Volleyball season began this past week and it was a busy beginning to the season. Check out the results and notes from the first week of the volleyball season.


Alma

Alma began the season at the Axtell Invitational on Saturday and went 2-1. They took down Hampton in three sets 2-1, fell to Axtell in three sets 3-0, and then beat Silver Lake in three sets 2-1.


Arapahoe

Arapahoe had just one match to begin the season as they battled Franklin last Thursday. The Warriors won in three sets, and didn't allow more than 10 points in a set winning 25-10, 25-7, and 25-10.


Bertrand

The Vikings started the season 1-1. They played at the Southwest Triangular on Thursday. They had a two set loss to an excellent Southwest Roughrider team. Emma Brown had three kills in the match. Bertrand though, did take down South Platte in two sets. Brown led the way with five kills. Katelyn Evans had three aces in the match too.


Cambridge

The Trojans have started the season red hot with a 4-0 record. They beat Wallace in their season opener via the sweep. Breelle Miller, a senior, reached a milestone during the match with 2000 career assists. Cambridge then hosted their own tournament on Saturday and beat Wauneta-Palisade 2-1, Southwest 2-0, and Red Cloud 2-0. So far Jalen Kent has been playing well averaging 4 kills per set.


Dundy County Stratton

The Tigers of Dundy County Stratton began their volleyball season on Saturday. The Tigers competed at the Axtell Invitational and lost all three matches. According to MaxPreps they lost to Medicine Valley, Neligh-Oakdale, and Lawerence-Nelson. They lost all of the matches 2-0.


Hitchcock County

Hitchcock County began their volleyball season on Thursday against Wauneta-Palisade and lost 3-0. Then they played at the Overton Invite on Saturday. The Falcons beat Maxwell 2-0, they fell to Shelton 2-0, and then Heartland too, 2-0.


Maywood-Hayes Center

Maywood-Hayes Center's Volleyball team had a pair of matches at their triangular. They won both of them over Paxton 2-0 and Sandhills Valley 2-0. This team of course had a strong season a year ago, they look to keep things rolling this year and have started strong.


Maxwell

The Wildcats of Maxwell began their 2022 Volleyball campaign with four losses. They lost to Medicine Valley in four sets on Thursday. Then on Saturday at the Overton Invitational, they lost to North Platte St. Pats, Central Valley, and Hitchcock County. All in two sets.


Medicine Valley

The Raiders of Medicine Valley had a busy week on the court as they have already played five matches. They are 4-1 in the season with some nice wins. They beat Maxwell in four sets on Thursday to begin the season. Then they took on Mullen Friday night and won in three sets. Dundy County Stratton was their next oppnent at the Axtell invite and won two sets to none. At that tournament they also played Axtell and lost in two sets, and then turned around to beat Hampton 2-1. It has been a strong start to the season for Stella Heapy as she has 36 kills and is averaging nearly eight kills per match.


Paxton

The Paxton Tigers traveled to the Maywood-Hayes Center Triangular on Thursday last week and went 1-1. They beat Sandhills Valley 2-1 and then fell to Maywood-Hayes Center two sets to none. In their win over Sandhills Valley Jacelyn Jorgensen had 12 kills in the win. Against Maywood-Hayes Center Audrey Holm had eight digs in the match.


Southern Valley

Southern Valley took on two teams last week. They lost to Hi-Line 3-0 on Thursday and turned around to beat Sandhills Valley on Friday, 3-0.


Southwest

The Southwest Roughriders have already played five matches on the season and started 4-1. They hosted a triangular last Thursday and beat South Platte 2-0 and Bertrand 2-0. Against South Platte Bryn Lampe had two ace serves and 19 assists. Caylin Barnett had nine kills, seven digs, and one block. The Roughriders in their match against Bertrand were led by Lampe again as she had seven ace serves, 18 assists, and one dig. Southwest also competed in the Cambridge Invite on Saturday winning two of three matches. They beat Rawlins County 2-0, Norton 2-0, then fell to Cambridge 2-0.


Wallace

Wallace began the season with just one match last week. They fell to Cambridge on Thursday at home, three sets to none.


Wauneta-Palisade

Wauneta-Palisade had a busy start to the volleyball season as they played four matches and have started the year 2-2. They beat Hitchcock County to start the season, 3-0. Then they played at the Cambridge Invite on Saturday and fell to the Trojans 2-0, beat Red Cloud 2-1, and lost to Norton, KS 2-0.
