Week 2 RPAC Football Results



We are through two full weeks of the football season and all of the RPAC teams were in action. Let's look at the Football Scoreboard for Week 2 brought to you by MNB Realty before we get into the blog.



Alma


The Cardinals have had a rocky start to 2024. They played Pleasanton and fell 61-22. The teams were tied up after the opening quarter, 14-14. In the second, Alma held the Bulldogs at bay, allowing just one score and it was 20-14 at halftime. The third quarter was a big problem for Alma. Pleasanton scored 34 points to Alma's eight. It was 54-22 going to the fourth.


In the final quarter, Pleasanton scored again and closed it out. Alma is 0-2 and will play Sandy Creek on Friday, one of the top teams in the state, at home at 7:00 P.M. CST


Arapahoe & Bertrand


Arapahoe looks legit folks. They took on Bertrand on Friday and won by a large margin, 67-6. Pretty much every time the Warriors touched the ball, they scored. After the first two quarters, they led 53-0 at halftime. In the second half, they scored twice more, and Bertrand scored in the fourth quarter.


For Arapahoe, Trenton Roskip was 2-4 with 62 yards and a score. Briggs Hill threw a touchdown too. Will Cacy had eight carries for 106 yards and two touchdowns. Roskop had 86 yards rushing and a touchdown. Grayson Koller had 58 yards and a touchdown and Clayton North had 61 yards rushing.


Arapahoe is now 2-0 and will play Arcadia-Loup City at 7:00 P.M. CST on Friday. Bertrand is 0-2 and will have a matchup on Friday in Brady at 7:00 P.M. CST

Cambridge


The Trojans had a 3:00 P.M. game on Friday hosting the Flyers of Franklin. Cambridge captured their first win of the season, taking down Franklin 32-12. Abram Norton was solid at the quarterback position going 8-12 with 115 yards and a touchdown.


On the ground, Tayten Koeppen was excellent; 13 carries for 129 yards and two scores. Koeppen was also the leading receiver with two catches for 60 yards and a score. Krayton Ruggles had eight carries for 42 yards and Brady Ahlemeyer had 27 yards and a rushing touchdown.


Jayden Ruf led Cambridge with 12 tackles. Koeppen had an interception for the Trojans. Cambridge is now 1-1 and will face Axtell on Friday, on the road at 7:00 P.M. CST.





Dundy County Stratton


The Tigers made the trip to Bridgeport. and won big, 40-8. It was a tight game in the first half with DCS leading 14-8. In the second half though, the Tigers opened things up and scored 26 points while holding the Bulldogs to 0. Dante Horner had just 92 yards passing, but man were they effective as he had three touchdown passes. Ehtan Latta had 104 yards rushing and a touchdown on the ground.


Those three touchdown passes we mentioned? To three different receivers. Latta caught one, Kevin Garcia had one, and so did August Shaw.


On defense, the Tigers racked up the tackles. Lane Bybee had 15, Brock Bailey had 14, August Shaw had 14, Breck Horner had 11, and Lata had 10.


The Tigers move to 2-0 and will play at Sutherland at 7:00 P.M. CST, 6:00 P.M. MST, per the Sutherland school website.






Hi-Line


The Bulls played South Loup and lost 34-15. Hi-Line was down early, 18-7 after the first 12 minutes. After that, the Bobcats just kept churning, outscoring the Bulls 16-8 in the next three quarters.


Asher Hecox led the Bulls with 81 yards rushing and a score. The other score came from Traevyn Koch on a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown.


Hecox had eight tackles too and Parker Schutz had eight.


The Bulls fall to 0-2 and will face Ravenna on Friday at 7:00 P.M.


Hitchcock County and Maxwell


The Falcons and the Wildcats faced each other on Friday and it was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup. You can read more about that game here.


Hitchcock County is 2-0 and will play Franklin on the road at 7:00 P.M. CST. Maxwell is 1-1 and will face Maywood-Hayes Center on Thursday at 7:00 P.M. CST That will be an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup.


Maywood-Hayes Center


The Wolves played Mullen on Friday and fell in the matchup, 36-21. The Wolves faced a team that was historically solid and for MHC they will look to improve upon some things, which regardless in a win or loss you have to do.


This team should have no trouble finding some more wins this season. They will host Maxwell in Hayes Center on Thursday at 7:00 P.M. CST and try to improve their 1-1 record which is an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup.


Medicine Valley


Medicine Valley hosted Arthur County on Thursday and fell 64-25. It was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup so you can read the story here.


The Raiders are 0-1 and will play at Garden County on Thursday at 7:00 P.M. CST







Paxton


The Tigers faced South Platte and you would have never guessed it was a 6-man matchup based on the score. Paxton won 16-0 and scored all of their points in the first quarter and pitched a shutout.


Joe Eakins was good on the ground with 84 yards. Wyatt Walker had 52 yards rushing and a score and Maddox Mcconnell had a touchdown too. Eakins had 12 tackles and Mcconnell had 10.


Paxton is 1-1 and will be at Minatare on Thursday at 7:00 P.M. MST.






Southern Valley


Southern Valley hosted Arcadia/Loup City on Friday for Homecoming. The Eagles dropped the matchup with the Rebels, 44-10. In the first quarter, they held Arcadia/Loup City in check with just six points. But, the second quarter was much different. The Rebels scored 30 points and led 36-0 at halftime.


In the third quarter, the Rebels scored again and it was 44-0 going to the fourth. In the final stanza, Southern Valley scored 10 points to avoid the shutout. Tylor Grove led the Eagles with 61 yards rushing and a touchdown. Colby Noel led the defense with nine tackles.


Southern Valley is 0-2 and will play at Sutton on Saturday at 7:00 P.M.


Southwest


Another week, another big win for Southwest. This time they went to Harvard and won 56-14. Southwest controlled the game from the start, to say the least. They scored 42 points in the first half while holding the Cardinals to 0. In the second half, it was even 14-14.


Houston Billeter had a big game with 224 yards passing and five touchdowns. On the ground, Damario Koetter had 53 yards and a score, Billeter had 15 yards and a touchdown, and Trenton Williams had 21 yards and a touchdown. Williams had four catches for 149 yards and three touchdowns. Deric Kelley had 76 yards and two touchdowns.


Gage Hammond led Southwest with 12 tackles.


The Roughriders are 2-0 and will play at home on Friday against Arthur County at 7:00 P.M. CST.


Sutherland


The Sailors had to play North Platte St. Pat's on Friday, another quality opponent, and fell 68-10. The Sailors have struggled a little out of the gate and will see what they can do to improve as the season rolls on.


The schedule for them though, is not forgiving. This week they will host Dundy County Stratton on Friday at 7:00 P.M. CST This is an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup.



Wallace


Wallace got their first win of the season on Friday as they hosted Creek Valley. The Wildcats dominated the game with the final score reading 81-6. Ashtin Johns had a massive game with 155 yards rushing and five touchdowns. Not a single pass was thrown from Wallace. Ivan Aceves had 62 yards and a touchdown, Josiah Peyton had 12 carries for 37 yards, and Tyson Sullivan had one carry for 60 yards and a touchdown.


Conner Kennicutt led Wallace with eight tackles.


The Wildcats will look to build off of this nice performance as they play at South Platte on Thursday at 8:00 P.M. CST.


Wauneta-Palisade


Wauneta-Palisade was on the road Friday against Fleming Colorado. They dropped a close one 35-33. Casey Walker had a nice game for the Broncos with 113 yards and two touchdowns. Kreyton Wiese had 66 yards for one touchdown. Through the air, Nathan Blackman was the leading passer with 66 yards and a touchdown. Wiese also had 51 yards passing and a touchdown. Aden Acton caught all of the passes for 117 yards and two touchdowns. Greyden Sutherland had 11 tackles to lead the defense. Acton had 10 tackles and so did David Bryner.


The Broncos will be at home on Friday against Banner County at 6:00 P.M. MST.
