2023 SPRING SPORTS ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

May 14th-May 21st

Girls

Reagan Stengel- Maywood-Hayes Center

At the NSAA State Track and Field Meet, Stengel was a member of the 4th place 4x800-meter relay team (10:18.31), a member of the 2nd place 4x400-meter relay team (4:05.81), and was crowned State Champion in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:24.64.

Boys

Trey Robertson- Wallace

At the NSAA State Track and Field Meet, Robertson was crowned State Champion in both the 3200-meter run with a time of 9:59.00 and the 1600-meter run with a time of 4:30.50.


May 7th-May 13th

Girls

Kendyl Flaming- Wallace

At the D7 District, Flaming placed 1st in the 100-meter hurdles, 1st in the 300-meter hurdles, and was a member of the 4x400-meter relay team who placed 2nd. Flaming will be competing in these events at the NSAA State Track and Field Meet in Omaha.

Boys

Carson Trompke-Cambridge

At the D7 District, Trompke placed 2nd in the 800-meter run, 2nd in the 1600-meter run, 2nd in the 3200-meter run, and was a member of the 1st place 4x800-meter relay team. Trompke will compete in these events at the NSAA State Track and Field Meet in Omaha.


April 30th-May 6th

Girls

Jacelyn Jorgensen- Paxton

At the Leyton Invite, Jorgensen placed 1st in the 800, 1st in the 1600, 1st in the discus, and was a member of the 1st place 4x800-meter relay team.

Boys

Rylin Johns- Paxton

At the Leyton Invite, Johns placed 1st in the 800, 1st in the 1600, 1st in the high jump, and was a member of the 1st placed 4x800-meter relay team.


April 23rd-April 29th

Girls

Adi Hunt- Southern Valley

At the RPAC meet, Hunt placed 1st in the 200-meter dash, 1st in the 400-meter dash, 1st in triple jump, and 3rd in the long jump.

Boys

Keegan Shuler-Hitchcock County

At the RPAC meet, Shuler brought home four gold medals in the 110-meter hurdles, shot put, discus, and he was a member of the 4x100-meter relay team.


April 16th-April 22nd

Girls

Anastasia Gallegos-Southwest

At the Hitchcock County Invite, Gallegos placed 1st in both the 100-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles, 3rd in the pole vault, and was a member of the 4x100-meter relay team who placed 1st and set a new meet record with a time of 53.66.

Boys

Jack Baker-Hitchcock County

Baker competed at the Southwest Invite and shot a 75 at Cross Creek Golf Links which placed 1st and also set a new school record.

Cole Barnett-Southwest

At the Hitchcock County Invite, Barnett took 1st in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:04.63 which was a new school and meet record. Barnett also was a member of the 4x800-meter relay team that took 1st place and the 4x400-meter relay team that placed 3rd.


April 9th-April 15th

Girls

JoLie Farr-Cambridge

At theDon Stine Invite in Cambridge, Farr placed 3rd in the 100-meter dash, 1st in the 200-meter dash, was a member of the 1st place 4x100-meter relay team, and a member of the 3rd place 4x400-meter relay team.

Boys

Easton Jones-Maxwell/St. Pat's

Jones went 2-4 at the plate with 3 RBI’s and also pitched six innings and allowed just one hit and had nine strikeouts in their 10-0 win over Fairbury on April 10th.


April 2nd-April 8th

Girls

Adi Hunt- Southern Valley

Hunt had two solid meets last week. At Wood River, she placed 4th in the 100-meter dash and 2nd in the triple jump. At Cambridge, she placed 3rd in the 200-meter dash, 3rd in the 400-meter dash, 2nd in the long jump, and 1st in the triple jump.

Boys

Trey Robertson-Wallace

Robertson placed 1st in the 1600-meter run and 1st in the 3200-meter run with a new school record time of 10:02.97.


March 26th-April 1st

Girls

Blayklee Farr-Maywood-Hayes Center

Farr competed at the Sutherland Booster Club Invite last week and placed 1st in the 4x400, 2nd in the 4x100, 2nd in the long jump and 2nd in the triple jump where she set a new co-op record of 30-8.5

Boys

Peyton Herrick-Alma

Herrick competed at the Hi-Line Invite last week and set a new school record in the high jump with a leap of 6'6 which won the event. He was also a member of the 4x400 meter relay that placed 6th.


March 19th-March 25th

Girls

Clara Spargo-Dundy County Stratton

Spargo competed at the Holdrege Invite last Friday and placed 1st place in both the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash, 2nd in the 4x100, 4th in the 4x400.

Boys

Kamden Bose-Southern Valley

Bose competed at the alma Triangular last Friday and shot a 36 which set a new school record for the meet.


March 12th-March 18th

Girls

Shelby Schoene-Bertrand

Schoene competed at the Class D UNK Indoor on Saturday and placed 1st in the 400, 2nd in the pole vault, and 6th in the 55-meter hurdles.

Boys

Carson Glunz-Wallace

Glunz competed at the Class D UNK Indoor on Saturday and he placed 1st in the 55-meter dash and 3rd in the 200-meter dash.
