March 29th - April 4th Athletes of the Week
Girls
Abi Spargo - Dundy County Stratton
At the Perkins County Invite on April 2nd, Spargo placed 1st in the 100-meter hurdles with a personal best time of 15.09. She set a new Class D State Record in the 300-meter hurdles, pending NSAA approval, with a personal-best time of 44.12 to place 1st. Spargo was also a member of the 1st place 4x100 and the 2nd place 4x400.
Boys
Jack Baker - Hitchcock County
At the Cambridge Invite on April 1st, Baker took 1st with a score of 77. Baker had to compete in two playoff holes after there was a four-way tie for 1st.
March 22nd - March 28th Athletes of the Week
Girls
Bristol Kubert - Hi-Line
Kubert set 3 new school records at the Southern Valley Invite. She placed 2nd in the 100 with a new school record time of 13.62; placed 2nd in the 200-meter dash with a new school record time of 28.35; she placed 3rd in the 400-meter dash with a time of 68.75; and she took 1st in long jump and set a new school record with a jump of 15'10.5”.
Boys
Brock Bailey - Dundy County Stratton
At the Southern Valley Invite, Bailey set a new Class D State Record, pending state approval, with a throw of 63'4.25" which earned him 1st place. He also took 1st place in discus with a throw of 167'10”. That state record didn’t last long as he broke it again at the Perkins County Invite on 4/2 with a throw of 63’10”.
March 15th - March 21st Athletes of the Week
Girls
Ava Messersmith- Maywood-Hayes Center
At the UNK Class B/C Indoor, Messermsith placed 3rd in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.29, 1st in the 400-meter dash with a time of 64.90, and was a member of the 4x400-meter relay team that placed 1st with a time of 4:23.69.
Boys
Jahven Reyes - Maxwell
At the Class D UNK Indoor, Reyes placed 1st in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.20 and 1st in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.06.
