November 16th - November 22nd Athletes of the Week
Boys
Jacob Barber - Southwest
In the NSAA Class D6 State Championship against Garden County, Barber had seven catches for 71 yards and a touchdown, as well as eight tackles on defense. The Roughriders fell to Garden County 41-22. Southwest made school history with their State Runner-Up trophy.
November 9th - November 15th Athletes of the Week
Boys
Deric Kelley - Southwest
In the Roughriders semifinal win over Red Cloud in the D6 Playoffs, Kelley had eight catches for 103 yards and two touchdowns.
November 2nd - November 8th Athletes of the Week
Girls
Brooklyn Holtze - Cambridge
During the Trojans State Tournament run in Class D2, Holtze tallied 70 kills, 45 assists, and 38 digs. Cambridge earned the Class D2 State Runner-Up Trophy.
Boys
Dante Horner - Dundy County Stratton
In the Tigers 64-44 playoff loss to Plainview, Horner had a monster game with 318 yards passing, 61 yards rushing, and five total touchdowns. He also added 10 tackles on defense.
October 26th - November 1st Athletes of the Week
Girls
Aspen Billeter - Southwest
Throughout the subdistricts and the district final, Billeter had 32 digs, four kills, two blocks, two aces, and 100 assists. The Roughriders have qualified for the state tournament for the fourth consecutive year.
Boys
Jayce Hauxwell and Brody Hubl - Hitchcock County
Hauxwell forced a fumble and blocked a punt, which led to defensive and special teams touchdowns by Hubl in their win against Twin Loup in the second round of the Class D2 Playoffs.
October 19th - October 25th Athletes of the Week
Girls
Mallory Springer - Cambridge
In the semifinal and championship matches, Springer had 31 kills, 45 digs, and 39 assists. The Trojans earned the RPAC Championship.
Boys
Grady Erikson - Hitchcock County
Erickson had 15 carries for 166 yards and four touchdowns in their 42-14 win over Franklin in the first round of the D2 Playoffs.
October 12th - October 18th Athletes of the Week
Girls
Kyra Nelms - Southwest
Shafer set a new school record for assists in a season last week as she has tallied 449 assists through 10/18 and will continue to add to the total through district play.
Sawyer Shafer - Arapahoe
Neal ran a time of 20:57.33 on the Arapahoe course at the RPAC Cross Country meet last Thursday, earning gold.

Houston Billeter - Southwest
In the Roughriders win against SEM, Billeter had 379 yards passing, 6 touchdowns, 111 yards rushing, and a touchdown.
October 5th - October 11th Athletes of the Week
Girls
Aysha Neal - Alma
Neal ran a time of 20:57.33 on the Arapahoe course at the RPAC Cross Country meet last Thursday, earning gold.
Boys
Kael Garrett - Medicine Valley
Garrett ran a time of 17:44.97 on the Arapahoe course at the RPAC Cross Country meet last Thursday, earning back-to-back golds.
September 28th - October 4th Athletes of the Week
Girls
Emory Christensen - Maxwell
Christensen had 13 kills, four blocks, 16 digs, and 26 assists in a 3-2 win over Mullen last Friday.
Boys
Jesse Reyes - Maxwell
In the Wildcats 34-32 loss to Mullen, Reyes was 7-9 passing with 237 yards and two touchdowns, and 125 yards rushing and three touchdowns.
Ethan Latta - Dundy County Stratton
In the Tigers' win over NPSP, Latta had 109 yards rushing and two touchdowns, 118 yards receiving and two touchdowns, and two interceptions. Those interceptions put him at 30 for his career, which sets a new NSAA 8-Man State Career Record.
September 21st - September 27th Athletes of the Week
Girls
Kyra Nelms - Southwest
Nelms had 55 kills, 20 digs, five blocks, and three aces in the Roughriders four matches last week.
Boys
Houston Billeter - Southwest
Billeter had 228 yards passing, 83 yards rushing, five total touchdowns, and 13 tackles in the Roughriders 45-30 win over Wallace on Friday.
September 14th - September 20th Athletes of the Week
Girls
Tori Bose - Southern Valley
In the Eagles five matches last week, Bose tallied 51 kills, nine blocks, 12 aces, and 63 digs. Southern Valley won three of their five matches last week.
Boys
Mason Roblee - Medicine Valley
Roblee was 11-13 with 177 yards passing and three touchdowns, and 167 yards rushing and three touchdowns on 16 carries in the Raiders 42-28 win over Ansley/Litchfield.
September 7th - September 13th Athletes of the Week
Girls
Emma Strand - Arapahoe
In the Warriors five matches last week, Strand posted 56 kills, 11 aces, and 21 digs. In their big 3-1 win over Brady, Strand had 21 of those kills.
Boys
Tyson Sullivan - Wallace
In Wallace’s 66-32 win over South Platte, Sullivan had 229 yards rushing, five touchdowns, 13 tackles, and an interception.
Ashtin Johns- Wallace
In Wallace’s 66-32 win over South Platte, Johns had 250 yards rushing, four touchdowns, and 10 tackles.
August 31st - September 6th Athletes of the Week
Girls
Anikka Nelms - Southwest
In the Roughriders' wins over Maywood-Hayes Center and Rawlins County, KS, Nelms had 31 kills, three aces, and 26 digs.
Boys
Zavier Mitchell - Alma
Mitchell was 12-18 passing, 172 yards, 135 yards rushing, and four total touchdowns in the Cardinals' 52-30 win over Pleasanton.
August 24th - August 30th Athletes of the Week
Girls
Aysha Neal - Alma
Neal placed 1st at the Medicine Valley cross country invite on Thursday with a time of 21:51.2.
Boys
Kreyton Wiese - Wauneta-Palisade
Wiese had 237 yards rushing on 23 carries, six rushing touchdowns, an interception, and nine tackles in the Broncos' 44-28 win over South Platte.
August 17th - August 23rd Athletes of the Week
Girls
Kaitlyn Bradley - Southern Valley/Alma
Bradley went 4-4 at the plate in their 21-0 win over Lexington on Saturday, while hitting three home runs and had six RBI’s.
Hailey Evans - Cambridge
At Cambridge’s 9-hole home invite on Thursday, Evans shot a 46 to earn 1st place.
