On Tuesday, January 6th, the Arapahoe Warriors played host to the Maxwell Wildcats for a pair of games. The schools' split matchups as Arapahoe won the girls game and Maxwell took the boys game.
In the girls game, Arapahoe won by a final of 71-32. In the first quarter, Arapahoe built a strong lead and never looked back. They were up 22-9, and Chloe Gooden came off the bench for the Warriors and scored eight points in that first quarter.
In the second quarter, Emma Strand took a turn, scoring 11 points to lead Arapahoe, and the Warriors led 40-20 at halftime.
In the third quarter, Arapahoe maintained its strong play on both ends, leading 62-27 heading into the final period.
Maxwell played with great effort, but when a team knocks down shots at a clip the Warriors were, it's pretty hard to beat anyone. The Wildcats broke the press at times, but finding shots was challenging.
In the final quarter Arapahoe ended up outscoring Maxwell 9-5 to close it out.
