Updated: Aug 24, 2022

Dundy County Girls Golf Looking to Grow this Season

The Dundy County Stratton Girls Golf team is under the direction of a new coach and also is a young group. Taking over the program is Sam Cahow. Cahow says that getting on the course a lot will help this team improve. "We are looking for a lot of golf. The combined experience of these girls is less than two years, so we're hoping to lower our scores a lot and hopefully be medal contenders by the end of the year."

Dundy County Stratton will begin the season on Thursday, August 18th at the Cambridge Quad Invite.

Tiger Football Returns Solid Experience for 2022

For the Dundy County Stratton Tigers, they are coming off a 9-2 season last year and they return five starters. The Tigers are led by once again Head Coach Mike Spargo. Spargo says the Tigers do return a lot of experience but there will be some challenges with depth.

"We lost a senior class that went 39-7 in their four years but we do return a good group of kids with a lot of experience, we will not have the depth we had last season We do add an outstanding freshman class that has good numbers and very good athletes."

Spargo said that senior and 2021 All-Stater Corbin Horner will most likley be the quarterback for the Tigers. Last season he was a stat-sheet stuffer with 1609 rushing yards, 21 touchdowns and 93 tackles. Jack Kerchal, a junior will look to build off his 2021 season as he had 85 tackles.

Dundy County Stratton will begin the season on Thursday, August 25th at home versus Sedgwick County.
