RPAC Athletes Win Gold in Five Events on Friday at the NSAA State Track and Field Championships

What a start to the weekend as five gold medals were earned on day one of the NSAA State Track and Field meet at Omaha Burke on Friday for Classes C and D. Weather was great for most of the day, but rain hit about the start of the 400. While we dry off, check out the recap from day one!
Class C Girls
In pole vault, Ellaray Koch of Hi-Line vaulted 9'6" and tied for 13th.
In discus, Brynn Baily of Southern Valley threw 111'5" and finished 10th.
In the 100-meter hurdles prelims, Tierston Moore of Alma just missed out on finals as she was in the ninth spot with her time of 15.31. Brecklyn Hammond of Southern Valley ran a time of 17.56.
In the 100-meter dash prelims, Adi Hunt of Southern Valley ran a time of 12.15 and qualified for Saturday's finals. She has the fourth fastest qualifying time.
In the 400-meter dash, Hunt of Southern Valley earned the silver medal with her State Runner-up time of 56.85 in a close finish.
In the 200-meter dash prelims, Hunt of Southern Valley ran a time of 25.14 to qualify for Saturday's finals with the second fastest time.
Class D Girls
In pole vault, Shelby Schoene of Bertrand placed 3rd with a vault of 10'0", and Alyssa Koch of Southwest placed 8th with a vault of 9'6". Rylan Custard of Southwest finished 9th with a vault of 9'6", Jaleigh Hansen of Paxton finished 12th with a vault of 9'0", Taytum Roskop of Arapahoe finished 13th with a vault of 8'6", Eva Crowley of Paxton finished 15th with a time of 8'6", and Livia Philips of Bertrand finished 16th with a vault of 8'6".
In discus, Kennedy Bailey of Dundy County Stratton defended her title as she is your back-to-back State Champion with a throw of 133'9". Remmi Stout of Medicine Valley threw 95'4".

In the long jump, Blayklee Farr of Maywood-Hayes Center placed 4th with a jump of 16'4.75", and Madysen Carlson of Hitchcock County placed 5th with a jump of 16'2.25".
In the 4x800-meter relay, Maywood-Hayes Center is the State Champion with a time of 9:49.12, run by Caylie Softley, Karissa Stengel, Reagan Stengel, and Addison Richards. Arapahoe finished 11th with a time of 10:30.54, run by Grace Andrews, Sawyer Shafer, Suttyn Shafer, and Desi Farner. Wauneta-Palisade finished 12th with a time of 10:30.54, which was run by Addalyn Einspahr, Andrea Almanza, Jewel Holthus, and Annaly Ramirez. Paxton finished 14th with a time of 10:48.84, which was run by Jaleigh Hansen, Emma Lake, Natalie Jorgensen, and Jakcee Mitchell.

In the 100-meter hurdles, Abi Spargo of Dundy County Stratton ran the second-fastest qualifying time of 15.38, and Anastasia Gallegos of Southwest ran the fourth-fastest qualifying time of 15.70 to qualify for Saturday's finals. Emma Acton of Wauneta-Palisade clipped the last hurdle and went down to finish with a time of 20.21.
In the 100-meter dash, Clara Spargo of Dundy County Stratton ran the second-fastest qualifying time of 12.21, and JoLie Farr of Cambridge ran the third-fastest qualifying time of 12.41 to both qualify for Saturday's finals. Ava Messersmith of Maywood-Hayes Center just missed finals as she had the 9th fastest time of 12.98.
In the 400-meter dash, Clara Spargo of Dundy County Stratton defended her gold medal to earn back-to-back titles of State Champion with a new state meet record time of 56.30. Abi Spargo of DCS was the State Runner-up with a time of 57.81. Reagan Stengel of Maywood-Hayes Center placed 8th with a time of 61.23. Desi Farner of Arapahoe ran a time of 61.41, Blayklee Farr ran a time of 62.12, and Jaleigh Hansen of Paxton ran a time of 63.85.

In the 3200-meter run, Ashley Robertson of Wallace is the State Runner-up with a time of 11:39.12, and Shelby Schoene of Bertrand placed 4th with a time of 11:43.23. Emily Schack of Dundy County Stratton ran a time of 12:54.75.
In the 200-meter dash, Clara Spargo of Dundy County Stratton set a new meet record with a time of 25.16 to qualify for Saturday's finals. JoLie Farr of Cambridge also qualified for Saturday's finals with the third fastest time of 26.02. Madysen Carlson of Hitchcock County ran a time of 27.67, and Ruby McCune of Arapahoe ran a time of 27.74.
Class C Boys
In high jump, Bladyn Herrick of Alma finished in a three-way tie for 7th with a jump of 6'2".
In shot put, Ryan Oberg of Hi-Line threw 46'7.5".
In triple jump, Tucker Biskup of Alma placed 4th with a jump of 43'10".
In the 110-meter hurdles, Zavier Mitchell of Alma qualified for Saturday's finals with the fifth-fastest time of 15.12.
In the 100-meter dash, Asher Hecox of Hi-Line ran a time of 11.28.
Class D Boys
In the triple jump, Thunder Nelson of Bertrand placed 3rd with a jump of 43'3.25". Chase Vosler of Bertrand had a jump of 40'0.5", and Alex Diaz of Arapahoe had a jump of 39'3.75".
In high jump, Ethan Latta of Dundy County Stratton was the State Runner-up with a jump of 6'6", and Aden Acton of Wauneta-Palisade placed 8th with a jump of 6'2". Mason Roblee of Medicine Valley jumped 5'10".
In shot put, Brock Bailey of Dundy County Stratton is the State Champion with a throw of 59'0". Carlos Diaz of Dundy County Stratton had a throw of 47'8".

In the 4x800-meter relay, Wallace ran a time of 8:42.67, which was run by Max Hanson, Bradley Hanson, Wyatt Robertson, and Tristan Manary. Cambridge ran a time of 8:53.74, which was run by Braden Sandfort, Russell Norton, Brady Ahlemeyer, and Gavin Gunderson.
In the 110-meter hurdles prelims, Kevin Garcia of Dundy County Stratton qualified for Saturday's finals with a time of 15.44. Trenton Roskop of Arapahoe ran a time of 16.63, and Kade Fisher of Arapahoe hit a hurdle early in the race and went down, causing an infraction.
In the 100-meter dash prelims, Laken Wissink of Dundy County Stratton ran a time of 11.23, and Will Cacy ran a time of 11.01, which qualified them both for Saturday's finals.
In the 400-meter dash, Will Cacy of Arapahoe was crowned the State Champion with a time of 48.93. Grayson Koller of Arapahoe ran a time of 51.58, Jesse Reyes of Maxwell ran a time of 52.50, and August Shaw of Dundy County Stratton ran a time of 53.94.

In the 3200-meter run, Kael Garrett of Medicine Valley is the State Runner-up with a time of 10:09.41. Landon Drews of Paxton ran a time of 10:38.77, and Max Hanson of Wallace ran a time of 10:42.45.
In the 200-meter dash prelims, Laken Wissink of Dundy County Stratton ran a time of 22.19, Will Cacy of Arapahoe ran a time of 22.50, and Ethan Latta of Dundy County Stratton ran a time of 22.99, which qualified them all for Saturday's finals. Blaine Aldridge of Dundy County Stratton ran a time of 23.10.
