
This week the majority of teams had one game prior to the RPAC Tournament beginning. Of course, everyone in the conference began play on Saturday as the RPAC now has 16 teams, so the top seed does not get a bye anymore. To catch the first round RPAC Blog, read it here.
Alma
Alma did not have a game this week until the RPAC Tournament on Saturday. The Cardinals are the #1 seed in the East and they faced #8 seed Arapahoe. Alma won, 66-27. The Cardinals were dominant in the game and move on in the tourney.
They will face #5 seed Hi-Line on Tuesday at Southwest High School with tip-off at 6:00 P.M. CT Alma is 14-2 on the season
Arapahoe
On Tuesday, Arapahoe faced Axtell ahead of the RPAC Tournament. The Warriors dropped the game 51-29. Will Cacy had 10 points and six rebounds and Eli Shafer had six points and six rebounds.
In the first round of RPAC, on the East side, Arapahoe is the #8 seed and played #1 seed Alma. Arapahoe fell in the game 66-27. Shafer had nine points and six rebounds. Cacy had eight points and seven rebounds.
Arapahoe is now 1-16 and will play in the consolation game of the RPAC Tournament. They will face #4 seed Medicine Valley on Tuesday at Southwest with tip-off at 3:00 P.M. CT.
Bertrand
The Vikings faced Maywood-Hayes Center ahead of the RPAC Tournament and won 64-56. This was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup so you can read the full story here.
Bertrand is the #2 seed in the East for the RPAC Tourney. They played #7 seed Southern Valley and won 64-56. Bertrand had four players in double-figures as Marcus Hernandez had 17 points and 10 rebounds, and three blocks, Kayden Hatfield had 15 points, Hunter Nelson scored 12 points and had eight rebounds, and Thunder Nelson had 11 points and nine rebounds.
Bertrand is now 13-4, on an eight-game win streak, and will play #6 seed Southwest on Tuesday in Southwest at 7:30 P.M. CT.
Cambridge
The Trojans played against Wauneta-Palisade on Tuesday before the RPAC Tournament. Cambridge won big, 63-26. Krayton Ruggles had 15 points and eight rebounds for Cambridge. Maverick Webb had 13 points. Ben Harris nabbed nine rebounds.
Cambridge is the #3 seed in the RPAC Tournament and faced #6 seed Southwest. The Trojans fell in the game 69-65.
The Trojans are now 8-7 and will play #7 seed Southern Valley in the consolation round on Tuesday at 4:30 P.M. CT at Southwest.
Dundy County Stratton
Top-10 rated Dundy County Stratton had one game before the RPAC Tournament. The Tigers played Wallace on Tuesday and won 76-24. Lane Bybee led the scoring for DCS with 22 points. Ethan Latta and Breck Horner each scored 11.
The Tigers are the #2 seed in the West for the RPAC Tourney, and they played #7 seed Sutherland. The Tigers were able to win big, 73-29. Ethan Latta and Lane Bybee each had 21 points.
The Tigers are 11-3 will now play #3 Wallace on Tuesday, at Hayes Center with tip-off at 7:30 P.M. CT.
Hi-Line
The Bulls had a game before the RPAC Tournament and they played Overton. The Bulls dropped their matchup with the Eagles, 65-55. Zach Whittaker scored 20 and Brody Difenbaugh had 19.
The Bulls then played in the RPAC Tourney on Saturday as the #5 seed versus #4 seed Medicine Valley. Hi-Line won over the Raiders, 46-33. Dawson Ruda had a big game with 17 points and 19 rebounds, nine of them offensive, two blocks, and three steals.
Hi-Line is 7-9 and will play #1 Alma on Tuesday at 6:00 P.M. CT at Southwest.
Hitchcock County
Hitchcock County had two games this past week, one regular season matchup and the other the RPAC Tournament. First, they played against Paxton and lost 51-43.
On Saturday, they played as the #1 seed in the West and faced #8 seed Wauneta-Palisade. The Falcons won 60-23. For Hitchcock County, they had four players in double-figures as Adam Kisker scored 18 points, Jayce Hauxwell had 17, Jack Baker scored 11, and Mason Schilke put up 10.
Hitchcock County is now 11-3 and will play #4 Paxton on Tuesday in Hayes Center at 6:00 PM CT.
Maxwell
The Wildcats had a pretty busy week. Two games before Saturday, then the first round of the RPAC Tournament. On Tuesday they went to Brady and won, 60-50. Joaquin Vega had 16 points and nine rebounds, Jesse Reyes had 15 points and seven rebounds, and Cole Huffman had 14 points, eight boards, and five assists.
Then, on Thursday, they went to Sandhills Valley. The Wildcats lost 54-38. Jesse Reyes had 14 points and five rebounds.
On Saturday, the Wildcats played as the #6 seed in the West and battled #3 Wallace. Maxwell dropped the game by a final score of 53-37. Maxwell will face #8 Sutherland in the consolation round on Tuesday at 4:30 P.M. CT in Hayes Center.
Maywood-Hayes Center
In the last week, Maywood-Hayes Center played in two games. On Tuesday, they played Bertrand and fell, 64-56. This was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup so you can read the full story here.
Then on Saturday, RPAC play began and the Wolves are the #5 seed in the West and played #4 seeded Paxton. This is the third time they have played, and MHC had won the first two matchups. This time Paxton got the win, 41-37 in overtime. MHC was led by Kody Schwenk with nine points, Keenan Richards had eight, and Kade Broz and Jaxson Anders had six.
MHC is 9-7 and will now play on Tuesday, in Hayes Center, at 3:00 P.M. CT against #8 seed Wauneta-Palisade in the consolation bracket.
Medicine Valley
Medicine Valley played one game prior to the RPAC Tournament, as it was against Sutherland. The Raiders won big, 57-19. Brody Senff had 17 points and 15 rebounds for Medicine Valley and Lucas Einspahr had 16.
The Raiders then played as the #4 seed against #5 seed Hi-Line in the first round of the RPAC East Tourney. The Raiders fell in the game 46-33. Medicine Valley was led by Mason Roblee's 12 points and Brody Senff's 10.
The Raiders are now 7-7 and will play #8 seed Arapahoe in Southwest on Tuesday at 3:00 P.M. CT in the consolation bracket.
Paxton
The Tigers had a big week last week. First, on Tuesday, they beat top-10 rated Hitchcock County, 51-43. Maddex McConnell had 12 points and five rebounds, and Tanner Hebblethwaite had eight, and Wyatt Walker scored nine.
Then, #5 seed in the West, Paxton played #4 seed Maywood Hayes Center in the first round of the RPAC Tournament. Paxton had dropped the first two matchups this season, but this time they beat MHC 41-37 in overtime.
Paxton was led by Wyatt Walker with 12 points, eight from Maddex McConnell, and six from Tanner Hebblethwaite.
The Tigers are now 10-4 and will play #1 Hitchcock County again this time on Tuesday at Hayes Center at 6:00 P.M. CT.
Southern Valley
The Eagles had just one game last week and it was in the RPAC Tournament. The Eagles are the #7 seed and faced #2 seeded Bertrand. The Eagles fought hard, but fell in the game 63-57. Isaac Hamilton had 17 to lead Southern Valley, Tate Weatherwax had 14, and Tylor Grove scored nine.
Southern Valley is now 3-13 and will play #3 seeded Cambridge in the consolation bracket at Southwet on Tuesday at 4:30 P.M. CT.
Southwest
The Roughriders had one game last week and it was in the RPAC Tournament. Southwest is the #6 seed in the East and they faced #3 seed Cambridge. The Roughriders upset the Trojans in a close game, 69-65.
For Southwest, Houston, Billeter had another 30-point game, including 19 points in the second half. Trenton Williams scored 14. Jacob Barber and Deric Kelley each had eight.
The Roughriders are now 6-9 and will face #2 seed Bertrand on Tuesday, at Southwest with tip-off 7:30 P.M. CT.
Sutherland
The Sailors had one game before the RPAC Tournament. It was against Medicine Valley and they fall in the matchup, 57-19. Jackson Saner led the scoring with seven points and six rebounds. Mason Mortimer had four points and eight rebounds.
Then, in the RPAC Tournament on Saturday, they are the #7 seed and faced #2 seed Dundy County Stratton. They fell in the game, 73-29. Sutherland was led by Mason Mortimer with 12 points and Ethan Holm with nine points. Jackson Saner added four.
The Sailors are 2-12 and will face #6 seeded Maxwell in the consolation bracket on Tuesday in Hayes Center at 4:30 P.M. CT.
Wallace
Wallace had one game before they competed in the RPAC Tournament. They faced top-10 DCS and lost 76-24.
The Wildcats had to regroup prior to the RPAC Tournament and they are the #3 seed in the West. They battled the #6 seed Maxwell and won 53-37. Wallace had 16 points from Max Hanson, 13 from Conner Kennicutt, and eight from Colt Franklin and Jason Fisher.
The Wildcats are 11-5 and will have another chance against #2 DCS on Tuesday. That game will be in Hayes Center at 7:30 P.M. CT.
Wauneta-Palisade
Wauneta-Palisade played Cambridge last Tuesday prior to the RPAC Tournament. They fell in the game 63-26. Kaden Dorn led the scoring with nine points and seven rebounds. The Broncos are the #8 seed in the West for the RPAC and faced #1 seeded Hitchcock County. The Broncos lost 60-23.
The Broncos were led by Grayden Sutherland with nine points. Aden Acton added five. Wauneta Palisade is 1-14 and will play #5 seed Maywood-Hayes Center in the consolation bracket on Tuesday in Hayes Center at 3:00 P.M. CT.
