This past week the 2023 NSAA State Golf Championships took place. For Class D, the meet was located in North Platte at Lake Maloney. The RPAC was represented by a pair of players from Southern Valley and Paxton, and Hitchcock County had their whole team qualify.
Fo Southern Valley, it was Kamden Bose and Braxton Hammond who qualified for the Eagles. Bose, shot an 82 on Tuesday and then an 86 on Wednesday for a total of 168. He finished 19th. Braxton Hammond finished 51sr with a 94 on Tuesday and then an 87 on Wednesday.
For Paxton, Jacob Holzfaster was excellent as he placed 11th with an 80 on Tuesday and an 84 on Wednesday for a total of 164. Ethan Hardin tied for 72nd with a 95 on both days, shooting a 190 total.
For the Falcons of Hitchcock County, Jack Baker placed 26th with a 171, an 81 on the first day and 90 on the second. Ashton Johnson shot an 89 on Tuesday and then on Wednesday he shot an 86 for a 175. Brayden Melchert tied for 49th with a 180, shooting an 86 on Tuesday and a 94 on Wednesday.
Mason Schilke tied for 68th with a 95 on Tuesday and 92 on Wednesday, totaling 187. Darin Neben finished 76th with a 97 on Tuesday and a 94 on Wednesday, a total of 191. As a team, Hitchcock finished 8th.
