Wallace Wins at Home Against Medicine Valley

It was a beautiful night for football in Wallace on Thursday night as the Wildcats, a team considered as one of the top-10 teams in D6, hosted the Raiders of Medicine Valley. It was a high-scoring battle that Wallace ended up winning, 70-33.
Wallace got the scoring going with a 55-yard touchdown run from Ashtin Johns at the 5:47 mark in the first quarter. It was 8-0 then. Medicine Valley countered with a big play of their own, as Ethan Brown caught a 26-yard touchdown pass from Mason Roblee. It was 8-7 with 2:45 in the first. Wallace scored again, Brayden Gardner ran it in from 39 yards away, and it was 16-7 late in the first. But the scoring wasn't done yet in the opening quarter. Roblee found Brown on a 58-yard touchdown pass, and it was 16-13. And then with just a few seconds left, Tyson Sullivan ran it in from 41 yards to make it 22-13.
In the second quarter, for the third time, Roblee found Brown for a 38-yard touchdown pass, and it was 22-21. Wallace answered back as Sullivan scored from 19 yards away, and it was 30-21 with 5:57 to go in the half.

With 3:41 to go in the first half, Colt Franklin found Gardner on a 25-yard pass, and it was 37-21. Wallace scored one more time in the second period as Franklin found Gardner again, this time from 28 yards away.
It was 43-21 at halftime in favor of the Wildcats.
In the second half, Wallace scored on a 19-yard run by Johns to push the lead to 51-21 with 9:10 to go.
In the second half, both teams had the opportunity to get some of their younger players in and gain some experience.
Medicine Valley kept fighting as Alex Einspahr found Brown on an 18-yard pass. It was 51-27 at that point. Both teams scored before the final quarter as Colby Holm of Wallace punched it in from 36 yards away and Jesse Hazen rushed one in from 46 yards away.
It was 58-33 heading to the fourth quarter.
Wallace closed out the game with two rushing touchdowns from Tobin Pelster, one from 10 yards and the other from 20 yards.

Medicine Valley had 213 yards passing and 153 yards rushing. Four of their touchdowns were passing. Mason Roblee had 59 yards rushing, and Jesse Hazen had 56 yards and a touchdown. Lucas Einspahr had 25 yards rushing and 60 yards receiving.
Roblee was 8-10 passing with 152 yards and three touchdowns. Alex Einsparh had 64 yards passing and a touchdown. Ethan Brown was the leading receiver with a big game, 139 yards and four touchdowns. He came into the game with 144 yards and two touchdowns.

Wallace had 397 yards rushing and 56 yards passing. Ashtin Johns had 99 yards and two touchdowns, Colby Holm had 75 yards and a score, Tyson Sullivan had 71 yards and two touchdowns, Tobin Pelster had 56 yards and two scores, and Brayden Gardner had 54 yards and a touchdown.
Colt Franklin had 56 yards passing and two touchdowns. Brayden Gardner had 53 yards receiving and two touchdowns.
Medicine Valley is now 1-5 and will host Paxton on Friday. Wallace is 5-1 and will be at Wauneta-Palisade next Friday.
