In Week Zero of the high school football season, there was just one RPAC member playing. The team was the Alma Cardinals. Things will really get rolling next week when every single RPAC team is in action in Week One.
For Alma, they hosted Superior on Friday night and won big, 74-6. There wasn't much they did wrong in the game as from start to finish they dominated. Initially, though it looked like they were going to be in for a fight as Superior began moving the ball downfield in their opening drive.
But, Alma thwarted that drive and found themselves able to score in two plays on their opening possession. Throughout the game, Alma was effective in scoring quickly. Per our numbers, Alma had eight possessions in which they scored on offense, in six plays or less.
Alma showed that they have a number of athletes they can look to on the offensive end as quarterback Jakin Neal went 8-8 with 204 yards and three touchdowns, Tucker Biskup had 89 yards receiving and two touchdowns, and Miles Ford had 62 yards rushing and two touchdowns.
Alma is 1-0 and will play Axtell this week. As mentioned there will be a full slate of games this week and we look forward to seeing how RPAC schools fare in Week One.
