Southwest made the trip to Elwood to play against the Hi-Line Bulls in a girls and boys doubleheader. In the girls game, Southwest used a lot of pressure to get an 80-48 win.  Southwest started on an 8-0 run in the first 2:30 of the game. Hi-Line cut the lead down 8-4. But Southwest put its foot on the gas and got its offense going. They led 25-6 at the end of the first quarter. Southwest kept up its strong play in the second quarter. On Friday, January 9th, Maywood-Hayes Center played host to Paxton in Hayes Center for a girls and boys basketball double-header.  In the girls game, MHC won 64-43 In the opening four minutes of the game, Maywood-Hayes Center started on a 14-0 run before Paxton got on the board.
