RPAC Boys Basketball Results as of 1/25

Before the RPAC Boys Basketball Tournament, many teams had games. To read a recap of the first day of the RPAC Tournament on Saturday, click here. At the bottom of the blog, we have our updated RPAC Bracket too.
For the first-round games, Cambridge hosted the East, and the West was played in Wauneta-Palisade.
The Boys Tournament resumes on Tuesday, the 27th, the East at Southern Valley, the West at Paxton.
Alma
Alma had one game prior to the RPAC Tournament, and it was an excellent matchup against the Elm Creek Buffaloes. Alma gave Elm Creek just its second loss of the season, winning 57-56. Alma led at halftime, 37-27, and Elm Creek came back and nearly won. But a game-winning shot from the reigning Male RPAC Rundown Athlete of the Week, Tucker Biskup, secured the win for Alma.
Biskup totaled 14 points, Isaiah Neal had 11, and Zavier Mitchell scored 20. Mitchell had 10 boards, too.
On Saturday, Alma competed in the RPAC Basketball Tournament. Games were played in Cambridge. In the first game on the East, #1 Alma faced #8 Arapahoe. Alma jumped out early, taking the 39-0 lead at the half. The Cardinals defeated Arapahoe 64-6.
#1 Alma advances to face #5 Hi-Line at 6:00 P.M. CT on Tuesday at Southern Valley and continues play. The Cardinals are 15-1 this season.
Arapahoe
The Arapahoe Warriors played Axtell ahead of the RPAC Tournament. The Warriors dropped a close one, 41-37. Aiden Roush led Arapahoe with 20 points. Hayden Sich had 12 points.
Arapahoe then played in the RPAC Tournament on Saturday in the first round in Cambridge. In the first game on the East, #1 Alma faced #8 Arapahoe. Alma jumped out early, taking the 39-0 lead at the half. The Cardinals defeated Arapahoe 64-6.
Arapahoe is now 0-16 #8 Arapahoe will face #4 Medicine Valley at 3:00 P.M. CT at Southern Valley on Tuesday.
Bertrand
Bertrand played Maywood-Hayes Center on Tuesday night on the road. The Vikings won a close battle, 57-53. Thunder Nelson had 28 points and Scottie Bieker had 17 points. Bieker also added 10 rebounds.
The Vikings then played in the RPAC tournament, and they are the #2 seed in the East. #2 seed Bertrand against #7 seed Southern Valley. Bertrand won by a final of 61-53. #2 seed Bertrand will play #3 seed Cambridge at 7:30 P.M. CT at Southern Valley on Tuesday.
Bertrand is now 14-3.

Cambridge
The Trojans played Wauneta-Palisade before the RPAC Tournament. Cambridge won big, 82-40. Three Trojans were in double-figures as Hodge Raburn had 25 points, Brady Ahlemeyer had 18, and Maverick Webb scored 10. Raburn had 12 rebounds, too.
The Trojans then began play in the RPAC Tournament on the East side. #3 Cambridge battled #6 Southwest. Cambridge won, 68-66. #3 Cambridge advances and will face #2 seeded Bertrand at 7:30 P.M. CT in Southern Valley on Tuesday.
Cambridge is now 10-5.
Dundy County Stratton
Dundy County Stratton played Wallace on Tuesday. They won, 37-34, and this was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup, and you can read the story here.
Now for the RPAC Tournament. #2 seeded Dundy County Stratton Tigers in the West, versus #7 seeded Maxwell. This game was close throughout as the Tigers led 22-19 at halftime. The final score ended up being 50-43. #2 DCS advances to play #3 seed Wallace at 7:30 P.M. CT on Tuesday in Paxton.
Dundy County Stratton is now 13-2.

Hitchcock County
The Falcons had two games prior to the RPAC Tournament and split the games. They first beat Cheylin, KS on Monday 60-35.
Then the Falcons played Paxton on Tuesday and lost a close one, 50-49.
Then the RPAC Tournament for the Falcons, they are on the West side. #4 Paxton faced #5 Hitchcock County. Hitchcock County led 27-16 at the half and went on to defeat the Tigers, 52-33. The Falcons will face #1 Maywood-Hayes Center at 6:00 P.M. CT on Tuesday at Paxton.
Hitchcock County is now 9-7 this season.
Hi-Line
Hi-Line played a solid Overton team on Tuesday and lost, 63-28.
In the RPAC Tournament, the Bulls are the #5 seed in the East. #4 Medicine Valley battled #5 Hi-Line. And a battle it was. Medicine Valley led the Bulls by one at the half, 24-23. Hi-Line got its offense rolling in the second half and came back to defeat the Raiders, 51-47.
The Bulls now have a record of 8-7.
Maywood-Hayes Center
Bertrand played Maywood-Hayes Center on Tuesday night on the road. The Vikings won a close battle, 57-53. The Wolves had three players in double-figures as Keenan Richards had 18 points, Kade Broz scored 16, and Charlie Callis had 10 points. Richards had 14 rebounds, too.
In the first game of the day on the West, #1 Maywood-Hayes Center faced #8 Wauneta-Palisade. The Wolves got rolling early, taking a 19-1 lead after the first quarter. Wauneta-Palisade was able to get the ball in the basket in the second quarter to make the score 41-14 at halftime. MHC defeated the Broncos, 78-41. #1 Maywood-Hayes Center will advance to take on #5 Hitchcock County at 6:00 P.M. CT on Tuesday in Paxton.
MHC is 13-3 now this season.

Maxwell
Maxwell had two games this past week and won each of them. First, they beat Brady 64-50. Tayton Phillips had a nice game with 23 points, and Owen Pagel scored 11 points. Maxwell then beat Sandhills Valley 53-25. Pagel had 15 and Phillips had 10.
The Tigers are the #7 seed on the West side of the RPAC Tournament. They played #2 seeded Dundy County Stratton in the first round. This game was close throughout as the Tigers led 22-19 at halftime. The final score ended up being 50-43. #7 Maxwell will play #6 seed Sutherland at 4:30 P.M. CT on Tuesday in Paxton.
Maxwell is now 5-12 this season.
Medicine Valley
The Raiders played Sutherland prior to the RPAC Tournament. They beat the Sailors by a final score of 53-32. Three Raiders scored in double figures as Mason Roblee had 20 points, Ethan Brown scored 13, and Payton Newcomb had 10 points.
The Raiders are the #4 seed in the RPAC Tournament. #4 Medicine Valley battled #5 Hi-Line on Saturday in the first round. And a battle it was. Medicine Valley led the Bulls by one at the half, 24-23. Hi-Line got its offense rolling in the second half and came back to defeat the Raiders, 51-47.
Medicine Valley is now 8-6 this season.
Paxton
The Tigers played Hitchcock County on Tuesday. They won a close game, 50-49. They were down 43-33 heading to the final quarter. But a 17-6 final quarter propelled the Tigers to a win.
Maddex McConnell had a big game with 27 points. Paxton shot 53% from the field.
Paxton is the #4 seed in the West for the RPAC Tournament. #4 Paxton faced #5 Hitchcock County. Hitchcock County led 27-16 at the half and went on to defeat the Tigers, 52-33. #8 Wauneta-Palisade will take on #4 Paxton at 3:00 P.M. CT on Tuesday at Paxton.
Paxton is now 8-7 this season.

Southern Valley
The Eagles played Shelton on Tuesday and lost 66-52. Isaac Hamilton had 19 points, Tate Weatherwax scored 16, and Hunter Lans had 13. Weatherwax had 11 rebounds.
The Eagles are the #7 seed in the RPAC Tournament. it was #2 seed Bertrand against #7 seed Southern Valley. Bertrand won by a final of 61-53. #6 Southwest will face #7 seed Southern Valley at 4:30 P.M. CT on Tuesday at Southern Valley.
Southern Valley is now 4-13 this season.
Southwest
Southwest did not have a game prior to the RPAC Tournament.
On the East, #3 Cambridge battled #6 Southwest. This game was also a close one. It was tied at 18 after the first quarter, and Cambridge went to the half with a 33-28 lead. After three quarters, Cambridge led 52-47.
Southwest is now 5-10 this season.
Sutherland
Sutherland played Medicine Valley on Tuesday and lost 53-32.
In the third game on the West for the RPAC Tournament, #3 Wallace faced #6 Sutherland. The Wildcats jumped out early and never looked back, defeating the Sailors, 61-20. #6 Sutherland will play #7 seeded Maxwell at 4:30 P.M. CT in Paxton.
Sutherland is now 4-10.
Wallace
Wallace played Dundy County Stratton ahead of the RPAC Tournament. They lost, 37-34, and this was an RPAC Rundown Featured Matchup, and you can read the story here.
Now for the RPAC Tournament. In the third game on the West, #3 Wallace faced #6 Sutherland. The Wildcats jumped out early and never looked back, defeating the Sailors, 61-20.

Wauneta-Palisade
Wauneta-Palisade played Cambridge on Tuesday and lost the game 82-40. The Broncos were down 19-16 after the first, but couldn't keep up.
Now in the RPAC Tournament #1 Maywood-Hayes Center faced #8 Wauneta-Palisade. The Wolves got rolling early, taking a 19-1 lead after the first quarter. Wauneta-Palisade was able to get the ball in the basket in the second quarter to make the score 41-14 at halftime. MHC defeated the Broncos, 78-41.
The Broncos are now 1-15.
